Maybe he didn't know how the game worked, but the intent was still clearly there. He said "Freeze." because he thought Kathy's joke wasn't funny. It wasn't, but it's not his place to say so. Honest mistake or not, I feel like it was a very rude action.

Disrespecting a performer like that during a live show taping is really rude and obviously the other guys were bothered by it. Even if what she was doing wasn't that funny, it was not his place to intervene in the game. That would offend any performer, but they turned the situation around by making him participate and kind of taught the guy a lesson in a cheeky way. No matter how unfunny Kathy's joke might have been, it was so disrespectful to do that. Not every joke is going to great.
