You know, the french uniforms were blue, and the british red and so on, instead of camo for a reason. Camo is useful in MODERN war, where small groups seek to avoid notice while targetting other small groups. In the time when tose uniforms were designed, the soldiers literally stood in a great big line, snot each other, and then charged with bayonets. The colors were designed to be distictive so to avoid friendly fire.

Closest thing to Rome is probably the EU. For one it holds much of the landmass. It also upholds the ability for foreigners to gain citizenship. So long as they pay deference to the ruler and taxes to the state. There are also mighty feats of civil engineering that bind together distant places to integrate them. For example Denmark is being connected to Germany via a tunnel under the Baltic Sea to create a shortcut for trade that saves hours both ways. At the same time the Baltic states are getting connected to the EU rail network, with plans to also dig a tunnel from Estonia to Finland. So in a decade it may become possible to run a train from Sweden to Finland across mainland Europe through every nation that touches the Baltic. Except Russia. For reasons that should be obvious.

I would advise people who really don’t like writing, but do like history (not just wwi and wwii) to not take an AP history course. You may think the writing portion will be easy if you know everything. It’s a common misconception that the Chronicles of Narnia is an allegory. According to Lewis Aslan is not an allegory of Jesus, Aslan is literally Jesus in another world. Also Tolkien rather hypocritically wrote some very good allegorical short stories, and all his fantasy lends itself very well to allegorical interpretation to a degree perhaps unmatchable by anything short of the Bible.

On the matter of Tolkien and Lewis: it's only allegory if one thing _represents_ another - otherwise "Eru Illuvatar is God" would similarly contradict Tolkien's stated view on allegory. Eru Illuvatar doesn't _represent_ God, he _is_ God - we're just exploring his actions in a fictional context.
