The peace price is given out in Oslo, Norway. The rest of them (medicine, physics, chemistry and litterature) are given out in Stockholm, Sweden. Each prize is awarded by a select commite of experts in the field. Norway and Sweden were in a union at the time when Alfred Nobel started the prize. It is not clear why Nobel wanted the peace Prize to be awarded by a Norwegian commite. He may have thought that Norway had a more peaceful image than Sweden.
