Funny how Eden as in the Garden of Eden was Christianity's 'start' so the fact that it literally takes you back to the beginning of their album journey (proper albums even though we've got the EP's) so it's quite beautiful that it takes us back to the first song on their first big album

I see a lot of people mentioning the callback to "The Night Does Not Belong To God", but I don't know if anyone noticed that the very next line ("This bough has broken through") is a callback to a song on their first EP back in 2016, "When The Bough Breaks". I love this band so much and I love how they've really brought it full-circle. I got emotional when I heard those lines because I've been listening to them since about 2017 and life has changed so much since then, Euclid really feels like the most cathartic closure. WORSHIP ❤

The ending of the title track really caught me off guard. That one, Ascensionism and Rain are my favorite non single tracks. Overall the album is sick. They’ve got their formula down and know what works for them. Do I think it’s AOTY? Too early to say and in August 4th we get new HLB so I’ll just wait. I still enjoyed TMBTE a lot.

I literally cannot believe how fucking good this album is. Every song has its own identity, the band takes you through all possible emotions while shifting between all sorty of genres seamlessly. The BALLS on these guys! Just to put a delicate song like "Aqua Regia" next to a monster like "Vore" is insane. The vocals are awesome, the lyrics are awesome, the playing is awesome, the production is outstanding. Vessel is a MF genius. Best band in the world right now, album of the year, no contest. Listened to it as soon as it dropped on Friday midnight and man, I thought the most emotional I have been when listening to a new album was Heavener but that was nothing compared to what my emotions did when I went through this. This is like so unique and just in general its is really fantastic music, not just metal, not pop or r&b but MUSIC. This is what I want, to have creative artists that think outside of the box and just create incredible music... One of those rare gems where the album tracks almost outshine the singles... I really think there is some symbolism scattered throughout. Euclid ends on the same piano riff as "The night does not belong to God", whilst Vessel also sings "The night belongs to you", this would flow straight into Sundowning back to back. Could this album be a different spectrum or prequal into Sundowning- maybe he's finally reached God in Eden? Sleep Token are so mysterious, cryptic... I am blown away by this album. Wow.

Comparing this to Heavener will be wrong, because there's almost no metalcore in Sleep Token, there are RNB with Prog. Metal/Funk/Blackgaze elements, while Heavener is a Prog. Metalcore

This album came out same day as the ocean's holocene, i bought both albums and both are contender for AOTY obviously the ocean takes the top spot for me as they are like sleep token set levels that are hard to beat yet they manage to make something completely different and amazing with each record.
