I’m 62, on a road trip with my adult daughters ages 27 and 33. Both tell me “Mom, you’re going to love this song and this band” Starts playing “Find Your People” and I say “I love Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors!” We celebrate and I’m again reminded that I raised them well! ❤️😘

Like many folks here, I also came across this song and this band thanks to the Publix commercial. It's right up my ally. In addition, this is the phrase my wife used to tell our kids when they were having troubles in school. When you find your people, things will improve...and they have!

If Zac Brown or Hootie had this song out it would be an instant hit...great job on this one Drew
@dmbgurl83 ай бұрын
This IS an instant hit ONCE you hear it, just like me and others in these comments that as soon as we heard it on the Publix comm I pulled out my phone to find it - EVEN WITHOUT it being ZBB or Hootie or Darius Rucker because it's a hit with Drew Holcomb's unique voice singing it!!!! BUT the reason it's not caught fire or gone viral or gotten the attention those other acts would get is because of MARKETING NOT BECAUSE OF WHO'S 'NOT' BEHIND THE MIC.... if Drew H people or label were smarter & marketing better instead of just putting it on the radio or music apps and then giving Publix permission to use it (which is probably generating them the most visibility/buzz right now.... read the comments & like me, people immediately liked it an wanted to look it up) so that shows that the song is good enough, earwormy enough just like it is with Drew Holcomb performing it and just needs better, smarter, marketing, visibility etc and in my experience in these things is that with a few key common sense decisions of who what when where and then let WORD OF MOUTH do the rest bc still after all these years almost nothing beats word of mouth getting something the most attention right after showcasing your product at the right WHO/WHAT/WHEN/WHERE.... for instance Drew & band could play at some notable music festivals (free) & once people hear em they'll share it with other ppl or contacting headlining acts of similar or closely related genres with large fan bases like Dave Matthews Band (my fav band) & nailing down a gig to be their warmup act on tour etc and those fans would spread the word in person & online like wildfire bc the product is that good AS IS... and then in the social, techy world that we live in, I would consult with a catchy content creator to feature Drew & the band (& music) in a non gimmicky but very catchy Tik Tok & KZbin shorts video & done the right way would go viral (millions of views & potential new fans) happens all the time.... And in fact, I'd do all 3 of these methods if I were the bands manager or label etc... but just my humble opinion that has seen these simple & non genius level ways work many times... And DMB in fact did one of these 30 years ago by just playing many live shows early on for college kids at frat parties etc or local college bars in Charlottesville for either free or very low pay early on and kids and locals spread the word & they sold their albums straight outta the trunk of their van & even let audiences audio record their shows live and peer to peer spread them online for free (to get their music out there & they still allow that today at shows)

Just yesterday, I drove from the car dealership's lot in my new used Chevy, turned west onto Iowa Highway 2 heading toward a hint of sunshine on an otherwise overcast day, switched on the radio-and this song started playing. I love it! And it "hits home", with "my" people scattered across three continents, so it's not easy sometimes but still I feel blessed. And you can guess which will be the inaugural album I get for that car's CD player 😉.

I know even now that I'm at a crossroads and don't feel like I have any friends currently because I must have reciprocation is necessary as well as sincerity and no less and had friends that I just grew up with but they didn't grow with me. I believe there are friends that really care really will make effort to see me and we be ourselves. A soul group I can talk with anywhere and not be on their damn phones when we're together. People who love all of me and aren't quietly or not judging me and themselves for no reason. There is a soul tribe who resonates with me and are waiting for me. It's gotta be more than a song I know they're real.
