Is actually pretty safe to drive. The way we set up the rear end with the QA1 drag coilovers and ladder bars, if is spinning it stay straight it doesn’t get crazy, is set up to hook regardless and hooks pretty good on the street it should even better on the track!

Me and my dad are building a 1982 garrett turbocharged 4AGE swapped starlet fully caged Track/drift that car makes around the mid 200's rwhp on about 7 psi and weighs like 1600 lbs and it rips, so good to slide around Planning to widebody it and tune it with a aftermarket ecu. The plan is to get it to atleast around mid 300 hp. Probably K swap it for 500 hp

The shifter in the genesis is called a ratchet shifter, they sell kits called a full manual valve body. The basic idea is its an almost spring loader bump shifter, you pull it all the way back and it goes 1st, 2nd, 3rd and you have a button for overdrive and lockup. They are pretty popular in the ls and diesel world

The vq37 stock block, stock internals can handle about 500whp safely. Anything over that is sketch city. At least he upgraded from the 7AT transmission. Mf is brittle and can’t handle power for shit. But I feel like a few hard pulls on 16psi and something’s gonna be knockin but it ain’t gonna be Girl Scouts with cookies at the front door 😂🤷🏻‍♂️

Done lots of research on these cars. VQ37 is a very stout engine and can handle good power when done correctly. He should be fine. But 700whp is indeed the limit before you would have to start building it. I've seen cars hit crazy power on these stock internals. I have a g35 and g37 so I've been looking into making them both really fun cars. G35 has slightly weaker internals. So I wouldn't go much more over 600whp without building.

The VQ can hold that power but the 7AT can't. He did a vr30 swap, so he covered that base and is fine. The 93 tune makes sense because it's admin tuned, a 93 map is standard since they're NY based. Decent price considering the GTM kit was 10k + other parts + labour. And its a 2012, so doesnt have the main engine issues of older VQs. Despite being older, still an expensive platform to mod.

My dad bartered and ended up with a nice 1982 Starlet. 3-cylinders, and the car was as light as could be it was red and in good condition. rather cute i'd say. anyway, my best friend was riding with his friend in a travel wagon that got seized for some reason and was in a tow yard in Arizona. He asked me to take him there to get his things out of it. He and I drove from Los Angeles to the Arizona tow yard and got there like at 2 A.M., so we drove to Las Vegas Nevada and spent a couple hours there to pass the time, and then drove back to the tow yard in Arizona and loaded up the Starlet with his stuff, then drove back to Los Angeles. That whole trip used just a little over half a tank of gas. Toyota should start making those again haha
