Cool. I got pod poi regular before I knew this cord existed but I’m just learning again after first start in 1999. I’d love to learn contemporary tec poi.

Excellent review, as usual. I want to get the new ones because every time I do stacks with the smithy ropes I feel something is gonna break with that sound 😨

There was one major point you did not mention but then again it may not be an issue for you. But I find that having a thin rope like smithy has a big difference in weight compared to a thick rope like VPC. With a thicker rope you need a heavier head to balance out the weight of the rope otherwise it feels like you are just swinging rope! So my pod poi which are light at 150g feel fine with thin smithy rope. But I’m assuming they won’t feel so with thick FPC rope and I will have to add additional weight to the heads to balance it out with the heads feeling heavier than the rope they are connected to. What do you think?

I put these into a pair of podpoi with capsule handles. The feel is great but now the rope no longer slips/spins, and so it feels like the poi is twisting the handles somewhat, anyone else encounter this, how did you learn to adapt? :o

In your opinion, if these tethers were added to the vision poi, would they be of a familiar feel to podpoi?
@DrexFactor2 жыл бұрын
Huh...that's a really good question. Vision Poi definitely have weight distribution that's similar to Podpoi so it's entirely possible. Because the form factor of Vision Poi are more rod-shaped than teardrop shaped, though, I'm pretty sure stalls are going to feel quite different. As I'm looking at the website, I would think that the newer Vision Poi mods with pod shells and those 3D-printed cones would wind up feeling very much like Podpoi, but I'm willing to bet there would be a substantial difference with the traditional rod form factor.

Would fpc chord do well on my concact poi from ultrapoi???

Thank you so much for the review. This is very helpful and I Will deffentley invest in some. Cant figure out why I have to contact flow toys every time I want to make a purchase using your discount code.
@DrexFactor2 жыл бұрын
It's because people keep sticking those codes on bargain hunting sites. Every time that happens, Flowtoys asks me to change the code because they want to make sure its only used on sales that come directly from my recommendations. Believe me, I find it just as annoying as you do, but it's the price of doing business currently.

@@DrexFactor that makes sense and thank you for telling me about flow toys. I am very impressies with the quality of their products

Are you still able to do orbitals with the fpc like you can with the other cord?

Would anyone recommend buying this if I already have UltraPoi?
@AshIsObsessive2 жыл бұрын
I think it depends, while I believe pod poi are nicer than ultrapoi if you're enjoying your ultrapoi I don't think it'd be worth an upgrade
