I used the surgeon David used about a decade ago. At 60, you would be impressed with my hair. There is no doubt I would be very, very thin by now as all three of my brothers are bald. Without a hair transplant, I would have likely joined their club. I went in using Minoxidil, derma rolling weekly, and Revian Red--all of which I continue to use though now I'm on oral minoxidil/finasteride instead of liquid minoxidil which I recommend. Zero side effects for me, personally. Consistency, post-op, is key and I think Dr. Linkov would agree. My surgery went well and I cannot even see my scar though I had very good (thick) donor hair. Great video, Doc.

Doctor Gary I have a question that I hope you can see and comment on because I’ve never seen it asked and it does scare me a lot. “ Has anyone of your patients developed shingles after a procedure of a hair transplant?” I had a girlfriend who had her wisdom teeth removed and developed shingles on her face so that scares the hell out of me that it can happen after a surgery. Please like this so the Doctor can comment!
@bryancohoon9333 Жыл бұрын
That’s most likely just a result of the physical and mental stress of the surgery she had. The shingles virus is always in you if you had chicken pox. If you didn’t have chicken pox growing up - no shingles

I have had two procedures done by Bosley, and am quite pleased with the results. My expectations are not grandiose. I know that I will never have the thick hair of a teenager again, but the difference is still striking. My first procedure was done ten years ago and my second was last year. The first one was 2,500 grafts and the second was 2,200. I intend to have a third (and final?) procedure done in the near future, and was told that I could have an additional 2,200 grafts transplanted during that procedure. If I hadn't had these transplants, my hairline would be like a "horseshoe" now. It IS expensive, but if it makes you feel better about yourself...do it!
@JSD999 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for details on Bosley HT . I know they are really impressisve work as per my friends review. Can you help by telling that you are using dutasteride /finsteride Tablet and also minoxidil on scalp massage once a week instead of everyday to make slow growth cycle and reduce hair shedding ?
@TheVerbalVolley Жыл бұрын
I take a propecia pill daily, and use Minoxodil on my scalp twice a day. It is important to realize that one's hair undergoes a "shedding" period each year, and not to worry about that. I also had a situation after the second procedure where the donor area scar was extremely visible (like a sideways horseshoe on the sides and back of my head), which worried me greatly. I spoke to Bosley, and they assured me that this was temporarily due to a "shock to the donor area" and that it would disappear, which it did. I can not say enough good things about them. They are true professionals, and incredibly friendly and helpful as well, and I am looking to my third and final (?) procedure in the near future.@@JSD999

Hey, Gary! I just started watching some of your videos today for the past hour (currently 10:02 pm, November 24, 2023) after looking at ways to regrow hair, other concerning thoughts regarding hair loss, and more research. Then I found your channel and am hoping to watch more of you. Subscribed and hope to get good advice and information from you. Been having hair loss for the past year and a half at age 17 1/2, and has been getting worse since then. My hair health has been getting more damaged and shorter, my hairline receding more, and fewer hair follicles everywhere, no matter what few products I have been trying since last year, when I had really nice, full long hair from 2020 to early 2022. Been very self-conscious about my hair and look for several years since I have hated having short hair but am not giving up and will try everything I can to regrow my hair and get my hair follicles back, reduce damages and moisturize hair, and prevent future hair loss, similar to how I looked earlier this decade. Wish me luck!

You tried everything except the 2 drugs proven to work? finasteride and minoxidil?
@rayanzaidi2793 Жыл бұрын
Actually, I have been on them for 2 months after going to another dermatologist’s office after a few months of not going to one due to other complications. Hoping the hair comes back by the time I go back in February, otherwise I’ll have to use other items and ask if they can increase the dose, if that’ll help. Also, minoxidil hair regrowth foam treatment hasn’t been working even though I apply it once a day, and recently thought to change it to two whenever possible since nothing is happening once again and hair loss has been getting worse, even when using it for the past 14 months.

And the scar on the back of my head from the transplant..... in the end shaving my head was probably the best thing I ever did!!!! The scar actually doesnt bother me ..... its a conversation piece ! Hey Doc! I was considering a "safe bet" of first doing scalp micropigmentation and then trying surgery on top of it, as a sort of cushion to have an aesthetic hairline base and smooth transition in case the surgery does not yield good results first. is there any reason not to not do this at all, or do first the surgery and then the micropigmentation? Thank you.

A friend of mine went to get his hair done and he had heard that you could use hair from other parts of the body so he asked the doctor if he could use ass hair and the doctor was pretty adamant that if he did....the moment he started sweating...there would be an assy smell........

I have a genuine question, why is it so difficult for science to find a long-term cure for baldness? minoxidil works half way and if you stop taking it, it makes it works, then this guru doctors give you a list of vitamins to take, you go and take them and nothing happens, if you use finasteride there is a high risk of not getting a boner long term, hair transplant cost a fortune and theyre not natural...is it something that the scientific community is hiding from us?? This industry worths like a billion per year and still no real solution for this problems of millions

@TrustEngineersАй бұрын
Lack of finance/investors. Not enough global interest. Billion per year is a pocket change. Personally, I think that researchers should invest their time in making better hair systems. Artificial hair should become the norm, and changing your hairstyle/color/length even daily should become fucking norm. We use tons of cosmetic products and other shit to bump our looks from what nature gave us. Did you know that South Korea has a procedure where they fucking break your leg bones and insert grafts to make your legs longer? I'm not even mentioning plastic surgery. And yet, hair remains a touchy subject. "Oh how do I fix my hair so no one notices I had a transplant, boo-hoo". Everyone should just shave bald, wear a fucking wig and be done with it.
@davidu86887 ай бұрын
I'm not a Dr but I am a contractor and anytime you hear "if I don't like it" such as the scar the Dr should run because that can mean literally anything. I've had customers say fix it "good enough" and then they want something perfect they didn't pay for. Do not use terms of opinions as they rarely work out.

I've never been happier than now without my hair. Every day is a perfect hair day. I just use my hair cutting machine at the lowest setting and go to town. I do this once every 2 weeks. Hair is over rated.

If the desired result is to alter the shape of the hairline for example a natural deep widows peak, would you do a hair transplant or forehead lowering or would you need a combination of the two?
