The problem I have with Batman is that all of his best feats are pure plotarmor. The thing that's supposed to make Batman "cool" is that he's supposed to be a human with normal human limitations who still manages to hang with top-tier heroes and villains. But then you look at his best feats and they're all things that are, by a very wide margin, completely beyond the realm of possibility for a normal human to perform. He lifts far more than the strongest men in the world who are roided to the gills. Somehow, even though he's weighted down with all his gear and literally wearing a parachute (his cape), he's able to run 2-3X faster than the fastest olympic sprinters who got their times wearing little more than running shoes and booty-shorts. His feats are CLEARLY at metahuman level, but they refuse to call him metahuman because that contradicts the premise of his character ... and this is why it's a cheat because his feats are also a contradiction to the premise of his character! If you take Batman as he is written up and supposed to be and only count his non-plot-armor feats, he's a pretty good street-level hero with a lot of money and a high IQ who wouldn't stand a chance in hell of beating Cap any day of the week.

Physically Steve takes EVERY category period. That’s what the SSS does. Cap is the peak of human evolutionary potential in all areas. To be above Cap by definition makes them super human. Steve is the fastest, strongest, most agile, most durable, along with the greatest endurance of any human who has ever lived or will ever live. Not just for his body type, he is as strong as a 350 lbs body builder on PCP while being as agile as a 90 lb female gymnast for example. He is technically not superhuman because it is possible for a human to achieve his abilities but it is impossible for one body type to achieve this in all areas so he should be considered enhanced. Batman is human perfection for he’s body type but their are humans superior to him in areas such as Nightwing’s agility. Unarmored is a cage Steve dominates, standard gear ina random encounter Cap mid to high difficulty depending if he can hold on to his shield or not, with prep and or specialty gear Batman.

I think on neutral ground, Cap definitely wins. He's just too strong, quick, skilled, experienced, and tactical for Batman. Like you mentioned, Cap is so skilled that he's literally been able to box Thor himself and defeat Iron Fist. In the city, I'd give a very, very slight edge to Batman just because that's more his environment. However, I do think there's a strong possibility that Cap would be able to quickly adjust to the city fight due to his insanely intense training regimen. So if he pulled out the victory there too, it wouldn't surprise me. So many people don't realize just how freaking insane Cap really is...

What?!? If Batman preps for Captain America then he stomps! Batman and Captain American are my favorite superheroes. Cap’s best shot is in a random encounter. I believe Batman is the better fighter. Captain America kills people. The most consistent version of Batman doesn’t kill. To take down the enemy without using lethal force is much more difficult than outright killing them. Batman is aware of strikes to instantly kill his opponents but doesn’t use them. Batman’s gear gives him a huge edge. He could take out Cap with gas, explosives, poison, electricity, lasers, sharp batarangs (blood loss), ice pellets, and sonics. Batman is much more intelligent than Cap. He is a genius polymath. He can better use the environment and any tools he has access to in more creative and innovative ways than Captain America. Steve’s powers are often slept on. Some even claim that he doesn’t have any. He is in the casual 2-5 ton range. The issue even more people have is that due to feats, Batman is up there too. I’d still give cap a slight edge because of showings and the serum. Steve has to have them because all he has is tactics and physical strength. Batman can rely more on his versatile tools and intelligence. Batman is nearly Captain America physically without the serum. He would be an absolute monster with it!

He can’t just kill the Red Skull because he would rapidly lose enemies to fight. He kills countless no name soldiers, goons, and thugs. He does have his moments when he is “crime fighting”. He is a morally strong character. The no killing is just such a huge part of the modern Batman mythology. It doesn’t work with Cap’s background.

Good video man. I don't disagree necessarily with anything you said.... however, I don't see Batman engaging with Cap in an open arena or environment. That's not how he operates, he's the Dark Knight man. Taking Batman out of the city would be unfair to him because that's simply where he operates, unless theirs some global threat and requires him elsewhere. It simply WOULD happen in the city whether it be in NY where Cap is, or in Gotham where Bats is.... Batman is also more unpredictable. You never know how he's gonna beat you, because he's the ultimate strategist. I think Batman takes him man, I really do. It's a close fight everytime, but I think Bats takes him down

I was responding to Diablodon when he said a better fight would be Batman vs Daredevil. Daredevil is marginally faster, more agile, and more environmentally aware due to senses. Batman is a marginally better fighter, stronger, better tactician, smarter and has better equipment. Batman vs Daredevil would be at worst a 9/10 in Batman’s favor. A better fight would be Nightwing vs. Daredevil.

If they were in civilian clothes and fighting in a cage match then I could see 7/10 or 8/10. Batman with his suit and utility belt is just too much. Frank Miller really revolutionized both characters. Man Without Fear was amazing. I like Bendis and Quesada’s takes on the character.

To be honest, I don't see why this is close it seems caps main advantages of Cap are that he is superhuman with greater brainpower but batman shouldn't be fazed by this. take superman for example with similar if not greater stats but batman has been able to sneak outside his senses and react to attacks. not saying he on supes level but And to be honest batman's speed and strength should be enough to contend if not outclass cap in some iterations. also I think your underselling batmans skill as a fighter. it is not just that he know all martial arts, but he has been able to combine them into one unique martial arts of his own (some of the techniques are not only known by a select few) on top of that he made a completely new martial art in order to fight the batman who laughs called BAM POW. sure cap might memorize if not master all known martial arts but batman has shown himself to not only deduce a style but to actively figure out is weakness. in my view batman uses his smoke pellets or flashbangs to sneaks behind cap and incapacitates him using nerve strikes or his gadgets.

(He absorbed all of Marvel 616 fighting and tactical knowledge) (Has mastered all earthly forms and has learned obscure hidden arts in secret places in the world) He learns and masters new fighting styles in mere seconds. people always leave out Batman's strongest feats when talking about this. Batman has strength feats such as benching over 1 ton, moved a 23 ton boulder and ripped the door off a plane mid flight which requires at least 12 tons of force. Cap still probably takes strength by a tiny bit, he's more consistent. Durability def goes to Batman especially with his suit. Took a beating form RF and kept getting up, tanked hits from characters like Darkseid, Superman and Wonder Woman (WW without his suit) and survived a 28H gauntlet that only ended because no one wanted to fight him. Combat Speed is close as they both dodge bullets but Batman has also reacted to speedsters and was faster than Deadshot in a quickdraw. IQ and battle IQ is Batman, I don't think I need to explain. Same with gadgets Experience is Batman also since he trained in the league of shadows for 12 years Batman wins mid-high diff IMO

I’m gonna give my personal opinion on neutral grounds if they are going hand for hand and nothing else then yeah Batman would definitely lose if we give Batman prep time to the feet Captain America he actually would be able to win this fight I mean really think about it he’s gonna get opponents way stronger than Captain America But we’re not talking about superman and Supergirl. We’re talking about being and like all these other superhuman characters who should be on par or even stronger than him. Batman will be able to come up with some strategy to beat Captain America in my opinion, but if it’s just neutral grounds and yeah, he loses not neutral grounds and he has prep time and he has time to study Captain America and all that study his strength and I guess pretty much everything else then yeah Batman would win.

Caps feats have always just seemed...bullshitty. Batman trains his body over years to peak human physicality. Cap takes a serum. Batman learns virtually every martial art known by going through grueling training with hundreds of disciplinary masters of the art. Cap downloads his combat skill from a computer. Batman spends years learning various arts, sciences and languages from around the world. Cap gets injected with liquid 'be smart' serum. batman literally designs a suit to be able to contend with as much physical damage as one might expect to see. Cap has magic metal shield that wonks physics. like...captain america is a 6 years old 'nuh uh, my dad is bigger' type argument to basically any street level character.

Batman has developed his mind and body as far as Bruce Wayne’s mind and body can possibly be developed. The super soldier serum developed Captain America as much as all human potential. It is a slight edge, and both beat guys like the other all the time. I think it’s 60/40 for Cap.
