Don't forget that you don't need bulk chilling capabilities if you are doing pressure fermentation. You can (with an appropriately rated pressure vessel eg: Kegmenter) let the pressure rise to 27psi at 20c and you achieve 2.4 volumes of CO2. You can counter pressure bottle this too (with a bit of care). I'm not saying it's ideal but it's do-able. You can have chilled, bottled beer in under 10 days.

All great points, I really need to get into pressure fermenting, the benefits are too good!

My guess is that you will love it!

I had no idea pressure fermentation had that many advantages. Might have to give it a try now that I have a fermenter capable of doing it. Cheers from the US!

You should really give it a go. Cheers from Sweden

I’m going to try this! So if I understand correctly the beer will be fully carbed when it reaches the PSI right? It doesn’t have to sit a week or so at that pressure like when carbonating a keg?

Right

some of the Beers are more than drinkable within a week, I do a Altbier Sticke with some Honey added and this one I turn around in a week with such a wonderful outcome

Will pressure fermentation also work well with Ales, IPAs, etc? Or just largers? What about pressure fermentation and kveik? :) have you experimented with it? Cheers
@DrHansBrewery Жыл бұрын
Yes it will. Kveik is just yeast, it will work as any other yeast.

I’ve just started pressure fermentation with two All Rounders and find it a mine field of information.

How do you like it so far?

@@DrHansBrewery I’m trying to get my head around it. I have two beers in them at the moment an American IPA and a gyle from that same batch and it’s very early days. I bought them for low Oxygen brewing and as my passion is brewing continental lagers I want to carbonate with the spunding valve and then transfer to serving keg saving my CO2 for serving. Could you give me a link to your most useful videos on the subject if that’s possible? Also when do you set your spunding valve? I tried to set it before transfer filling an empty All Rounder with CO2 then adjusting the spunding valve to 10psi but it didn’t work during a live fermentation as I had to adjust the valve down?

@@heathenbrewer7205 check out the three Q&A videos I have about pressurized fermentation. They should answer a lot of questions. Part 1 kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5jci4J6Ypurb9U Part2 kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXWYYoxnrMSsg6M Part 3 kzbin.info/www/bejne/moeykJ96ipVjqNk

Incredibly easy to take gravity samples during fermentation using a picnic tap ....

Har en fermzilla allrounder, med spunding valve kittet etc som stått helt nytt och orört i flera månader, är nojjig för att den skall smälla. Övertala mig gärna på hur jag ska våga testa den :)

I was wondering if you would do a pressure fermented mead? Or braggot?
@DrHansBrewery3 жыл бұрын
It depends on if you want to make a still mead or carbonated mead I guess. If you're OK with carbonated go for it.

I really want to get into Pressurized Fermentation. How do you filter the beer with pressurized fermentation? Right now I filter the beer and it goes into the keg from Secondary. How does it work under pressure? Thx Doc
