Always start with a small amount of fish. Airpump will be needed until your plants can take care of the oxygenation. Lesser the number of fish, easier it will be for the tank to take care of it without filter or even food.

To populate is nature. Go with apple snails. Perusa valarum, will be easy to control than ramson or trumpet. Shrimps over population problem varadhu as shrimp fries will become food for fishes. First start a tank. Adhu ungalukku yellam solli kudukkum. 😀

If you use gravel, it will not let the dirt to settle. Sand is for filtration and also helps in Nitrogen cycle. Gravel can be used for decoration in very less quantity but will not replace sand for its functional purpose.

bro everthing u said is good, but most of shrimp will not survive for first two three months. For fish it will survive from every first day of setup but for delicate animals it could take some time . I'm following fatherfish for nearly two years.

Welcome to Natural Fish Keeping!! Regarding bio film, you need any type of surface agitation. A basic air stone with a pump can take care of it. I do once a day. I feed dry worms to keep is as close to nature. Shrimps do not need any special feed. Dead materials and waste becomes their feed. If we give them any separate feed, it will stop them from cleaning the tank.

Thanks for the comment. If you are buying from Nursery, you can get their pre-mixed poting mixture. It has everything you need. You can just add some dry leaves and you are good to go. If you get cocopeat, you can use the measurements mentiones and mix the soil mixture yourself. Hope this helps.

Direct sunlight is best. control pannanum na, you can cover with some sheet. Evening paakanum na artificial light venum, illana, you can leave it naturally. Algae vandippa varum. Add snails and shrimps, excess algae a adhu paathukkum. One side glass mattum clean pannikonga, may be monthly once. Rest algae valarattum, it is good for the tank.

Leaf rot aana, fishes and other creatures will eat them. That is the only suspicion for me. Have some hard leaves plants like anubias. If not, increase the number of plants, you can see the change. Hope this helps.

My new tank is 28 inches. Light you can go with 2 x 2 feet light, it will look good. Make sure it adds to 3000 Lumen of light. Fikter sponge filter podhum. Pre-filter use pannuvinga na, hang on filter nalla irukkum, space save aagum.

I already have a tank by father fish method with 2 feet tank for filtration i use 5 liter paint bucket filled with pond black sponge. The tank attained natural stablity (cycle) Now i am thinking of starting new 4 feet aquarium and i have a sump filter with 24 kg bio media By using to much filtration ( bio media) the waste that is created in tank( plant material and fish poo) is consumed by the sump filter due to this the plant might not get it nutrients from water columb By using 24 kg bio media will my plants not get essential nutrients to grow Does heavy filtration affect plants normal growth in an natural aquarium Should i not use heavy filtration in natural aquarium

In FF model, filtration happens inside the tank. Sand is the best filter. It decomposes and sends the nutrients to the soil later. I would suggest you can share with 1 or max 2 sponge filter, as you will have a 4 feet tank. If you are not happy, later you can use your proven bucket method. Sand will take care of the filtration. Bubbler will take care of water circulation and airation.
