Dehydrating the Kale FAIL as it loses green color. Harvesting tomato and pepper for the freezer food storage Vegetable Garden prepper supplies.

The garden definitely gave what it could this year given the heat and rain. Your dehydrated kale could probably benefit from being vacuum sealed after dehydration. Usually when stored greens turn color it's due to oxygen. Happy to see you and Squeak are well, thanks for sharing with us! 🫶🏾🌻

I have 2 birdbaths in my backyard so the birds and critters have plenty of water and leave my garden alone. I also put out plenty of birdseed ( sunflower seeds) for food. I rarely have issues with critters. Love the wildlife, we try to cohabitate with all of them.

I'm in Virginia Beach, so not too far from you and I feel your pain... it's been a rough summer for tomatoes!! Constant 90-100 degrees and rain makes for fantastic blight, lol

I blanch my kale for 1 min, then freeze in muffin tins, then once frozen take out of muffin tins and put in plastic bags. Great in soups, almost like using fresh kale.

I cut a few windows in my fencing. You just have to use a pliers to bend the little stubs over so you don't scratch up your arms. Make them big enough to be able to reach in far.

I like the size of those Mountain Magic tomatoes. I'm glad to see Squeak patrolling the back yard. Fawns growing up fast and the Bucks antlers growing quickly for the season. Deer couple expressing some romantic feelings is sweet.

I always enjoy your videos. I'd like to suggest something to you. Consider planting your tomatoes in a different area next time. The soil/dirt is more than likely gonna cause this problem for a while. The spores and or disease is deep within the soil. Rotate your crops and see if that helps.

I am no expert but always heard nematodes can carry over from year to year if you plant tomatoes in the same spot like you say, LuJustLu. A quick search to check on my memory of this came up with "root-knot" nematodes that cause plants to wilt and end up looking exactly like the one he showed us

@@Woodlawn22 If that is the case, then planting mustard greens in that area and letting them over winter there. In the spring, he can turn them into the soil. That helps with nematodes. Added bonus, he can eat the greens all throughout the season.
