i know this is an old video but i have been using it for a year and i am still impressed with how well it works. in fact i dont even wait for the gel to dry out; as soon as it is getting a little sticky i do this but using smaller amounts of product. i bought mini mixing spoons from amazon so i can use equal amounts of mixing medium and clear primer and vary the amounts according to how dry the liner is. Thank you so much.

Thank you so much for this video. You were able to give us the why and what products we can use as well as the method. All the other videos I’ve seen didn’t make sense to me. Yes, they were very short, but adding water (which doesn’t stay blended, quickly evaporates and doesn’t mix well with wax without an emulsifier) or oil (which breaks down wax and oil based products and I’m guessing effects the longevity and transference) didn’t sit well within my logic. I’m so glad you did some sensible research and not just regurgitated everyone else’s content. And to those who don’t have the patience to watch the whole thing to save their time and product even ONCE, Godspeed! 🤦🏾‍♀️

Hi Koren, I just wanted to let you know that you can get Cyclomethicone (this is the silicone which will dry up) at coastalscents. I bought a bottle of it and shared it with my makeup-crazy friends, because a little lasts a loooong way. You'd maybe want to get this, because this way you will only get a solvent which will dry out completely later, so the consistency and the ingredients of the gel eyeliner won't be altered at all. I use it on everything waterproof that has dried out.

Koren, you have quickly became my favorite thing ever on here. You have some awesome tips. Some people on here need a lesson in politeness and manners. The solution to "the not liking this video or the person behind them but I'm still on here watching them anyways dilemma" is really simple, go watch something else if it bothers you so much that you feel the need to make nasty comments. It might seem hard, but somehow I think the rest of us will manage to go on with KZbin viewing without you.

Here's a heating tip when melting it with a hair dryer. If you have a silpat (a silcone baking liner) place that on your surface then place a cookie sheet on top of that then the jar with the item you're melting. As the heat of the hair dryer melts the top the cookie sheet with begin to get hot and help the bottom contents melt as well. Almost like an oven where you have heat coming from both directions.

Also, I have some dry gel liners, but they're not nearly as dry as the one you got. Would this technique make the product too watery or goopy?

Hey Koren! I seriously love ya. You are such a great guy. Anyway, just wanted to point out something. You know by heating plastics it transfers BPA etc. then putting it on our lids makes it worse because of absorption. So my thoughts are before heating buy the little glass containers and do it in there where we are sure there will be no BPA transfer. Just a serious thought.

@Dutchess830 No because there are preservatives in the eyeliner. So when you mix the homemade glycerin mix into the eyeliner it will not spoil as fast. Keep in mind ALL makeup have a limited shelf life to begin with. Take a look at the "open container" on the label and that will inform you as to how long your product's shelf life is.
