Pink could control Pearl. Spinel couldn’t really be controlled. Pearl was also more serious-- Spinel wasn’t created to be serious, she was created to be fun-loving. It literally wasn’t possible for Spinel to be who Pink wanted her to be, which was why Pink took Pearl but not her.

And to think that pink was beloved leader, they both praised and celebrated her as a matchless gem. But in the end everyone realized the evil he did to so many innocent gems, and yes, it is unmatched, but in ruining their existence, and all because of his tantrum of wanting a colony and his "game" of the rebellion. And possibly the worst thing she did was to abandon Spinel with lies and in a very cruel way (Unless in the next season 6 of the series another case worse than Spinel happens, because blue diamond at the end of the movie saw Spinel and said it was one of his "Lost Treasures" from Pink) But something that I also hope will be resolved in season 6 is: How did Spinel get that injector and rejuvenator? If these things can only be acquired by diamonds? Thanks for reading, have a nice day =)
