Even when they have an opportunity to make a new track from scratch, FD still manages to make another half a NASCAR track. I don't know why they are obsessed with banks that require 1000hp just to go a decent speed on.

The European drift championship just show us how all of that combined can create extraordinary moments of pure wildness... I´m glad this championship got this kind of quality level...

I kind of want drifting to go mainstream, but I kind of don't The way drifting is now, there are still opportunities (although rare) for dedicated grassroots drivers to get to the pro leagues If it becomes mainstream, then we'll start to see "dynasties" like we also see in NASCAR, F1, and WRC. In other words, we'll only ever see competitors like Deane, the Shanahans, Forsberg, etc. No more Paul McCarthy underdog stories :(

Hey James, we get what you're saying completely and agree ... that's why we've got the Drift Games Nationals series here in Ireland, which is all about keeping costs low, leveling the playing field and giving everyone a fair chance of winning on pure talent alone. Then, of course, we've got the Drift Games Extreme series, which is the step up to the big leagues that drivers can choose to take when their budget, car and talent allows for it. A good progression system we feel, and one that can take drivers all the way into the Drift Masters European Championship and/or Formula Drift. And also, trust us when we say the Shanahan story, much like that of many drifters, is far more humbling than you'd think!

I'm gutted all the media has dissapeared from the IDC website. It's part of driftings history (like brooksies BDC videos). In a world of social media only careing about NOW.... Keeping a record of the past has to be important, if drifting is going to (one day) have the decades of legacy which other Motorsports have. Great video. Edit.
