That first trout was lovely, and a nice size. Beautiful little stream too.

Thanks heaps mate!! Isn't it fantastic up in the hills after the rain!! I just love it. I love my cod fishing as well, but something just keeps drawing me back to the hills.

I'm in the US and I stream fish all the time with worms. It's a lot of fun and I enjoyed your video. I'm going to be starting doing my own videos later this spring. Have fun and keep up the great fishing!

Another quality R.A production - and getting better. It isn't always about trophy fish and you just keep on proving it. It is all about the angling. Glad to see the knotless hooks worked well for you. LOL abou the can of tuna.

Great video great way to fish ! Over here in the north of Scotland many of our rivers are small and when conditions permit the worm is highly effective..Nice to see the bait worked in a natural manner nothing better for inducing a take.Caught trout of all species and salmon too this way... Very entertaining and informative keep 'em coming ! Tight lines.

Great bit of fishing pal, I use a pen fishing rod for small rivers that I bought on amazon for £8, there great for trotting worms and spinning. They handle fish upto about 3lb, any bigger and I think it would snap. Please put more videos of you trout fishing and maybe try spinning for them. Great vid, Dan.

Love spin fishing with tin, started spinning with soft baits in last 2 weeks and trout definately more likely to hit a softy. I fish medium - big rivers NZ.

Robbie a way you could drift the worms is under a stem float just use the worms as the weight on the smaller floats its ace. I use that trick in saltwater streams but still works

G'day mate, that is a freshwater blackfish, sometimes called greasy, slippery or slimy. They dont get very big in the Murray Darling catchment but grow 3-4lb in Gippsland.

Yeah mate, theyre a native. I have caught them in my shrimp nets in lake Mulwala years ago, but usually i catch them high up in the streams, in the trout water. They are actually quite prolific in my area, but rarely targeted and usually only caught as a by catch for people chasing trout, like this one was.

Thanks topgunpete1. Those knotless hooks worked a treat, i never lost a single fish. Every hooked fish was landed!! As for the biggest fish, I steer clear of the "biggest fish" mentality at all cost. Big fish are great, and are a bonus, but I never set out to only catch them!!

Next time you're stuck without a can opener you can rub the top of the can on a big flat rock for a few minutes and it will scour the edges off enough the top will come right off.

Thanks Gabriel. Here in Australia, we call English Perch redfin as we have a lot of our own native perch such as silver perch, golder perch, macquarie perch, jungle perch, estuary perch etc....

I''ve heard the worms die if you put the dirt on top of them. You're supposed to let them dig in themselves. Can't personally verify it, but something to think about.
@itakeyourphoto9 жыл бұрын
Mate your doing everything right except your rod is too short. Get yourself a 12f telescopic rod and you will be able to place your worm more accurately and more importantly you will be able to drift your worm without dragging it along the bottom. When you have to fish under tree snags you simply pull the line by hand to one side till the bit hanging off the rod is short enough to fit under the snag then you simple let the line back into the rod as the current drifts it towards you.
