They are not high speed drill bits! I bought some at Home Depot and they work great! Use low speed with pressure and cutting oil it will work like it’s suppose too!

I tried slow speed as well. I think these are just junk. The video I watched on them they made it through easily

Drilled a pilot hole hole slice! Low rpms more downward pressure and lot of cutting oil. 💪 It looks like they held up to your torture test 🤣 lol
@FlawedOffroad3 жыл бұрын
less speed more pressure bud, its a hard lesson to learn but im having good luck with that keeping bits alive

I tried different speeds and pressures. I think these are just junk bits

Thanks for the review. I often wondered about those.

Maybe there are some good ones out there but these are junk

If you pre drill with a combination center drill it will work better. And cutting oil helps tool life. Chainsaw bar and chain oil works surprisingly well.
@TheBeardedJeeper Жыл бұрын
Yeah but the whole gimmick of these was you didn’t need to you could just dive in with them and be good. One of those too good to be true

They’re made for aluminum dense plastic and mild steel. The center drill lets the drill bit start cutting on the bit’s edge instead of the point.
@bjellison9053 жыл бұрын
Lol, are they possibly for drilling out messed up thread holes to the next size up and adding new threads? That way you dont drill a pilot hole, the holes already there and your just cutting the threads off with the bit.
@TheBeardedJeeper3 жыл бұрын
I don't think so... from what I have seen and the videos I have watched on it they drill new holes with these bits
@jasonrobertson2162 жыл бұрын
I ain't never seen anyone that knows how, try to send a large bit thru thick steel before, those that know always drill a smaller pilot hole don't they? At first I just assumed that you didn't really know what you were doing, until you decided to do the pilot hole, & "look what a small good bit can do", like nobody ever just does that... From then on it just seemed like a product test set-up for failure, unfortunately.
@TheBeardedJeeper2 жыл бұрын
Honestly I was trying to test them how they showed with no pre drilling and just sending them home. I realize this isn’t the best way to do it but they show it being done.

They're actually meant for impact driver. There's a whole equation too as far as drill speed & material you're drilling/tapping. The main thing is backing it out...folks tend to full send reverse & it ends up getting cross threaded. The cheap ones that you'd find on Amazon tend to be junk but the more premium brands seem to work much better.
@TheBeardedJeeper3 жыл бұрын
Ahh I did not know they were meant for impact drivers. The videos I have seen they just use a drill

@botak333 you should be able to use them on a drill press too

Pilot hole, slow and steady. Once it starts to bite, then pull out, use spray then back in and they work as they should. It's a process 👍

Yeah but these are advertised to just drill right in

Excessive pressure generates excessive heat and wear, let the tool do its work.

You have to add more viscous oil like engine oil WD40 is not for this purpose
@Ax44002 жыл бұрын
Those bits work great but, you destroyed the bit by not using cutting paste or oil and you need to drill slower. Get a HSS cobolt from a known reputable brand.

my God, dude turn your drill down for God sake. You’re not supposed to drill holes that fast.
