I'm glad that you like the table John. This one was a lot of fun to build and the best part about building your own is that you are not limited to what a manufacturer thinks that you need. Great build video Kenny, i was watching your Tuesday video the other day about your new drill press, and you obviously were talking about the drill press, when you also said about the table as well. That's were i was thinking 'hang on, have i missed a video i don't remember that table build?' now i know why as it's here now, thought i was losing it again ha ha ha. Kenny, say “drill press post” three times real fast... I really like your design for the drill press table. Good idea using the threaded inserts and I like the addition of the plywood pieces in the webs instead of just using a washer. I am really looking forward to the show next week to see the next part.

I can't believe I just sat at my computer trying to say "drill press post" over and over again. For the record, I can't do it. LOL. Paul, this is a very simple design and I don't think I could have made it more simple. I'm not a fan of the fancy drill press tables with removable drill inserts and that sort of thing. For my needs, simple is best here and I am sure that there are plenty of folks out there whose needs are as simple as mine when it comes to drill press tables. Thanks for tuning in this week sir. That ruler is called a T-rule and they are made by INCRA. You can get them directly from Incra.com or from you local woodworking supplier. Lee Valley tools is another source for these. I hope this helps. Thanks for tuning in.

Hi, I noticed that your router table has a lot of dust problems when I built mine I had the same problem but I solved it in one go by drilling a one-inch hole just passed the plate and put a hose on that. Now when I route the dust gets sucked down and when the piece of wood covers the hole, the extraction is even better.

Thanks for the tip John. When routing dadoes, dust collection is always an issue. The collection at the fence does just fine for the first little while but once that hole is covered, you are relying on the collection in the router compartment to take the rest of the dust and it never seems to be able to handle it. A secondary hole to draw the dust downward would be an asset for sure. Thanks for tuning in to the show and for taking the time to chime in with you suggestion. It's truly appreciated.

nice table, i dont think it matters if its square or centered on the table, i actually like it off set so the table height knob is canted away from the table so i dont bang my knuckles lol.

Kenny, What bit did you use to counter sink your T-Track? Very nice work, and video!!!

At 13:46 I describe the bit that I am using. It is a 3/4" straight bit. I set it to a height that equals the depth of the t-track. I hope this helps. Thanks for tuning in.

Good headsup regarding the Sawstop...... Kenny, you've had this table for a while now. Anything you'd do different? Do the inner T tracks Check every box? As I'm sure you know, some designs(Woodsmith for one), call for an open slot that you can put a clamp through. Some put a T track perpendicular to the ones for the fence. I know you think inserts are unnecessary, but I'm leaning toward one. Thanks in advance, Mark

I haven't had a single issue with this drill press table Mark and thus far, I wouldn't change a thing. While the outer T-tracks do get used considerably more than the inner T-tracks, there are times when the inner tracks are the only solution. I've never been a fan of the open slot as (in my mind) the more material you take away, the more stability you take away. If an insert is what suits your needs then I fully encourage you to install one. I still like the fact that my table doesn't have one and it works for my style of woodworking. I'll stick with yours. Only difference, I ordered a fence from Wood Peckers with integrated dust collection. People seem to like it and, unlike most things from that company, it was competitively priced. Thank you! Mark

@@markk4015 You'll have to let me know how you like the fence. We don't have Woodpecker products in my area so unless I want to pay import and duty fees, plus foreign currency exchange, there will never be one in my shop. I highly doubt they are going to send me one for free. LOL.

Thanks for the kind words on the show. The marking gauge that I use is called a T-rule and they are manufactured by INCRA. They are a little pricey, but they are super accurate and absolutely amazing for layout. I love them. You can find them at most woodworking stores as well as Lee Valley. Those "draw through" rulers are called T-Rules and they are manufactured and sold by INCRA. You can get them at most woodworking suppliers or from INCRA directly. I got mine at Lee Valley Tools.
