Clever with the tape. That would catch all the glass shards as well. Never thought of that. Thanks for sharing.

I was going to make DIY overflows for all the tanks but after getting up the courage, I decided drilling was the best way to go. It’s ALOT easier than you’d think!

You can pack the diamond saw with a large foam sponge soaked in water.

That's new! A moment without water seems like a broken tank waiting to happen.

I just cut my first glass last week to make aquarium tops - the first one was hard not knowing how hard to snap it off, but after a few, it was easy. After drilling 16 tanks in a row you are a certified (certifiable? lol) expert! Every weekend we learn something new.

What size bulkhead were you using on these 10 gallon tanks. Also congratulations! I have heard 10's are the hardest to drill!

thank you for sharing your experience, Im thinking about doing this soon.... possibly. I think it would be better than worrying about my pvc overflows losing their siphon.

Great tip with the tape! That's what I fear the most about drilling a tank

I never thought I would drill tanks but glad I did. It’s mostly dust but on a few there were some small chunks from around the circle but nothing too bad and the tape made clean up a breeze.
