...hopefully to the control cavity... I'm saying this to myself every time I'm drilling this holes😁 Its kinda scary.

Hi Magic Attic Guitars, Even though you've drilled these holes a dozen times it's always a little nerve wrecking indeed. Glad to know now I'm not the only one...

Fantastic. Really appreciate how you show the uh oh and, most of all, how to fix them. I cannot wait to see the finished product.

Hi Joe, Thank you. Mistakes and mishaps are also part of any guitar build so I feel I have to show mine. And it gives me an opportunity to show how to fix them. I had hoped to finish this series around Christmas but I don't want to rush it so we need to be a little patient.

Another inspiring video! I'll happily purchase some merchandise after my move from Boston Ma. to my nice quiet and warm location in Punta Gorda FL. There I'll set up a proper workshop.

What was the reason for not drilling the holes all the way through? Was it in case the drill bit wandered and put them out of alignment? Goodies! I’ve ordered mine, looking forward to getting them! You will have to look out for them in my videos 😜
@UnquendorGuitars4 жыл бұрын
Hi John. Yes, the chance of the holes being out of alignment is one reason and I intended to use a regular 8mm brad point drill bit to drill the holes for the string ferules before I changed my mind. If I had drilled the 4mm holes all the way through it would be almost impossible to get the bit centered in the 4 mm hole. But while filming I realized that doing it like this might be more accurate and easier to do with enough margin for error. As we could clearly see. And thank you very much for your support I hope you'll get your goodies soon. I'll keep a close eye on your upcoming videos.

Boy I hate doing ferrules. Good on you.
@UnquendorGuitars4 жыл бұрын
Hi Mr. Frontranger, Yeah it's a tricky job and also not my favorite, but one that has to be done. I might take some time to try and come up with a fool proof method. Or start using a string stopper block that can be routed in.
@r.llynch41242 жыл бұрын
I would have rather seen a top load bridge such as Schaller. It's a great hardtail bridge which is fully adjustable. I hate string thru with ferrules but that's me. Your builds are art.

How much material is left between the bottom of the cavity and the top of the guitar?

These videos are super informative, I'm definitely going to use that card trick at some point in the future! By any chance, did you ever consider making a patreon page?
@UnquendorGuitars3 жыл бұрын
Hey Shmuel, Thank you very much for the compliment. I have considered setting up a Patreon page or YT memberships, but I struggle with the idea I would be 'asking' for money. It feels kind of weird to me for some reason. Maybe if I can come up with good 'rewards' or content to justify the fees. I'm open to any suggestions.
