I have tried this drill and it is helpful in getting them to use their hind end on the rollback and helpful to keep the shoulder up.

Because of the advance handle, we all put on our horses here at the school. This horse, which is a stallion and owned by Susie Baker, also Monte Foreman Instructor and 1 of only 4 left in the World. When we put them on a Regulation Barrel pattern for the very first time of their life, the First run we go slow, to us, and run a D-5 time. The Second run we go to a D-4 time, the Third run we go to a D-3 time, the Forth run we go to a D-2 time and the Fifth time ever seeing the barrel pattern we push them to a D-1 time. So what do you think they start doing on their 6-7-8-9-10th time ever running the pattern in the correct leads on all straightaways and turns while riding on our feet and not our seats, in EQ that has been Scientifically designed and Patented, that no one else uses, this video will prove exactly what I am saying.
