Folks that are interested in purchasing the MP3 can find it on the Shop page over on my Patreon. Here's the Shop link: www.patreon.com/MichaelKelly/shop Or for a link that takes you directly to the song so you don't have to search around for it: www.patreon.com/MichaelKelly/shop/drink-boys-drink-original-837262 - - If you're interested in multiple songs and want to save money, I also have MP3's available bundled into 5-song EP's for about 30% off. Also, be sure to buy directly through the Patreon store page, rather than through iOS. Apple charges you a markup of up to 50% more for using the app, and NONE of that extra cost goes to support the artist.

I was really amused that you drank for the haromony parts, that made me laugh. Then I laughed more when some of them switched to water. Really enjoyed the facelift, your new equipment and the drum/harmonies definitely puts this song as one of my favorites.

Some of that is water, but most of what's in those glasses actually is some form of alcohol or other. Which meant that I was really nervous when it came to doing the harmony video where I was downing all of the glasses to finish them off, because if I somehow screwed that take up at the end it would mean having to refill them all for a second try at it.

Incredible! I'm glad this one got a facelift! May i ask your permission cover this, with appropriate credit given, at a bardic fire or two?
@BardMichaelKelly4 күн бұрын
Absolutely :) I appreciate you asking - though less about any permissions involved and more because it made me smile to hear that you enjoyed it enough to want to sing it. As a general rule, I encourage people to cover my songs live at bardic fires etc, and take it as a great compliment. In the bardic tradition that I come from, that's just what you do - if you enjoy a song, you sing it at a fire (and let people know who it's by, if you know who wrote it). So I really only tend to worry about permissions when a song is being recorded, or used for profit in some way.

Hey can u do "the minstrel boy"
@BardMichaelKelly4 күн бұрын
It's unlikely, I'm afraid. I've had a few folks ask me to learn that one, but I don't enjoy that song enough for it to ever have stuck. Couldn't say for certain what it is about it - just something in the melody that rubs me the wrong way, I guess? Same reason I'll probably never record 'Greensleeves'. Most people in renfolk music circles consider it a classic, but it's just never really done much for me.
