@@lonerebeI I think the second one is so over the top, even more so than the first, that it almost becomes cartoonish, a bit like Braindead, so it stops feeling as viscerally brutal as the first one, even though from a concrete standpoint it's at least as gory and violent.

"Dead by dawn," is an Evil Dead catch phrase. There are so many nods in this movie to the original trilogy. I would highly recommend at least checking out the original Evil Dead 2 for a glimpse of it.

If you are going to make fun of more horror movies, may I suggest a few? A. Six demons of Emily Rose (with Dexter's sister as a leading role) - watched this film in cinema when I was 16. Don't remember anything B. The thing (1982) C. The changeling (1980) I didn't watch options B and C, but people on 9GAG recommend them

You should watch B on your own The Thing holds up as one of the best horror movies to this day! The Changling is a very interesting recommendation, honestly would say it’s the first modern day horror and really feels like the 80s version of the conjuring. I hate how Nick dogged out the opening. I love Sam Raimi’s movies as a whole and his skills and innovation with camera work is bar non to anyone else of his time (he was the 1st to really do a fast sweeping drone style shot before their were drones…these were practical, winding and twisting shots he’d get). He only exec directed this one along with Bruce Campbell, the original deadite k!ller who also had a huge hand in this movie 😝.The tilt that is used frequently throughout the movie as well as the fast winding shots are an homage to Sam Raimi’s filming style originally started with the 1st movie. The tilt is known as the Raimi tilt. For context he made Spider-Man 1-3 w/ Toby McGuire also…if you watch them back you can see these unique camera angles and perspectives also.
