DRIV3R Beta - Clips Compilation (Bug, Crashes, Glitches & Random Moments)

From my latest gameplay sessions on my brand new PC so the image is better, and no LOD display thanks to ‪@Bittboy‬ fix! This beta version is the (now) famous Xbox Press Demo from February 2004.

00:10 Much more objects (lamps, bus stop, etc.) than in the final game. 00:39 There is a secret button combo to make your car back on its wheels but sometimes it has weird effects (you will see that many times during this compilation) 01:50 Countdown (Istanbul cut mission) requires you to chase the key man but there is no way to stop him without failing the mission! 06:14 Many clips are using the debug feature to spawn 32 peds 07:50 The wall between the lanes is much higher than in the final version. 12:52 Many doors are opened that way in the press demo 14:55 Shallow water behavior reminds me of ice 18:40 This out of bounds place is not solid in the final version iirc 19:39 This road does not feature traffic in the final version 21:19 The last clips are all moments when the game littermcnally crashed

The camera angle on the car did look a lot more better in the beta.

To be honest, that's something I prefer in the final version, I always dislike when the camera is too close from the car

We need a Driv3r community remake! Imagine if some developer team rebuilds Driv3r from scratch, making the game it should have originally been. *ADDITION:* I had initially thought of a indie team remaking Driv3r, but since indie teams aren't usually that big (hence recreating a game and its engine from scratch would be too much of a overloading task for such), I now stick to the idea of a bigger, financially better team volunteering to that remake, even if aside from the Driver community, I don't see any big team that would be interested in rebuilding an unfinished game from 2004. 🤷‍♂

I think a mod based of GTA 4 would be quite good. Porting maps and vehicles there fixing them up. Recreating whole game and engine from scratch is too big of a task for small team of developers.

@@Kacpa2 That would be cool too (as well as the most probable to happen), but I still dig the idea of Driv3r being fully remade into its original concept. Also, now that you reminded me that inde teams are usually not big, I gotta edit my comment in regards to this fact.

Back then, however, I roleplayed as Noob Saibot from Mortal Kombat on KZbin (that up to 2020 when I took the name I use now). What may remind you of me back then, was when I asked for help on how to enable the Cheat Table for Driv3r, and you made a whole video on it (that in september 2017). 🙂

Is it me, or are the map/building/environment textures also higher-resolution in this DRIV3R B3TA? Also, why were the game textures downscaled in the final release of DRIV3R? Is it because of disc space constraints?
