Why don’t you loose alternator bolts alternator os on a hinge

So if it breaks can you replace it and still drive the car

If the belt snaps or shreds, your battery light will come on because the alternator isn't working and your water pump won't be working, so the car will overheat..... you have to stop driving it but if you replace the belt then it will work again as before.
