Thank you Sir! I had fun making this one; the possibilities for designing campaigns are huge!

Great job purring this together. As a solo player I get things wrong and they stay that way until I see it done right. Thank you.

Not sure if this has been marked but I believe if there is no surprise by CAS then up to two additional units are able to add +1 each to the AAA fire? I know this video is a couple years old but I’m really enjoying it.

Yeah, I have no idea of what the answer is. I want to give this one some play time, so we’ll see. - Paul

These types of scenarios seem like they would give the initiative to the side coming on to the table so at least there was something for the defender to do if their cards came out first.

I really like this game, especially as the base M1 is mortal. I have played other systems where they were untouchable, which against the Soviet war machine was fantasy. Its one of my all-time favorites, especially in a campaign of your own creation. Note that the game supplies conversion to miniatures play, which would be really cool as well. Thanks for commenting, EJ. -- Paul

Great AAR! A couple of corrections/clarifications. (An errata sheet is on the way). 1) Volley Fire is not allowed in combination with moving fire. 2) The air unit fails the ammo roll if it rolls higher than 7. 3). Roll for replacements at the end of each battle, but just record them. You don’t actually get the steps back until the night turn..

Hello Jeff! Just saw this mail as the Engagement 4 -- the final one for Early Am Day 1 is uploading. I discuss how I want to do replacements at the end of the episode. From the rules as written, I could not figure out exactly how replacements were supposed to work. I guess they rules are consistent with what you are saying -- the sequence of play says you roll regardless of the turn -- yet the procedures for replacements indicate they occur at night. This made no sense to me, so I decided to take the replacements every turn. I also modify the criteria for which of the two tables are used to roll the replacement. Because I am trying to keep the number of formations to a reasonable level (not trying to have any counters except independents do double duty), I think I will actually take the replacements at the end of each turn. Otherwise, you could have some very vaporous formations as you get into the evening. You will see this in engagement 4 -- I learned just what artillery delivered mines can do if you roll hot dice. Oh..., the humanity! I spotted the rule for air ammo replacements and am performing it as you indicated. Finally, the clarification for Soviet volley fire makes good sense, so I will limit it to stationary units beginning Late AM engagements. Thank you so much for your comments! Paul

The Oaken Knight The updated errata came out just this weekend. For replacements the procedure is to simply roll for theme at the end of each battle and record how many steps you receive. You only get those replacement steps during the night turn.

As someone looking to get into hex and counter, I love these videos! Would the I-TOW and other vehicles hit by the Soviet air strikes not have benefited from concealment?
@theoakenknight17484 жыл бұрын
Soviet Onion Hello Mr Onion! Yes the system has a concealment mod iff the target is unmoving, is in cover, and gas not fired. If memory serves, that buys you an additional die on the defense. I think this is a great system to start with if you want a more tactical view, and I really like the campaign possibilities as well as the conversion rules for playing with miniatures. All good stuff!

Not the invulnerable M-1s that I remember back in the day. USAF should be embarrassed. I was so looking forward to a BRRRRRRT!

You have a Su-24 Fencer CAS card, but you're using the Su-25 Frogfoot counter. Not sure how much the attack ratings differ, but I imagine the Frogfoot has better ratings in some regard.

Thanks for helping me out Mr Nafarious. I'll scrub my OB for consistency, and if I need to change anything you will see it beginning Day 1, Late AM. Early AM engagements are complete at this point. -- Paul
