Excellent video, going through the heartland is a fun experience especially with the knowledge of the area regarding what grows in the region. Keep up the good work and keep rolling these informative videos. Blessings!!

This is one of my favorite drives. It captures the essence of what makes CA special. And it doesn’t get recommended as a route on any of the map/driving apps. Does anyone know the history of the long and windy stretch between Carmel Valley and Greenfield? The drive is a combination of pristine nature and stunningly beautiful vineyards. Most of it is largely unsettled and seems to be privately owned. It feels like a lot of quiet money. I just can’t tell whether most of it has been passed down through generations and/or regulated by conservation trusts. Natural beauty like this doesn’t happen by accident anymore.

You are correct, this drive is not typically recommended unless you are in the interior and headed to the coast. However, it is so great to explore those areas that are not frequented. How do you know what it looks like if you don’t go? The lifestyle is so different than the coast but exciting in a different way. It is also so quiet and tranquil with lots of birds! There is a mix of people that inherited land and new buyers, when I say new, back in the 80s and 90s, lots of farmland and vineyards. Preservation and conservation is key. Lots of land trusts and large park areas with local appreciation for nature.
