Thats a very good answer. I passed through Lochgelly for the first time in ages on Monday. The reputation of Lochgelly as a toilet is a tad unfair. I have lived in London and can assure everone that several parts of London would merit this accolade more than Lochgelly.

I love this video. It shows my street where I used to live. I no longer live in Lochgelly but this video is great and really reminds me of my childhood growing up there in the 80s and 90s. Although the vid was shot in 82 it really jogs my memories of how I remember many things being. Sad really how bad the town has became. Oh by the way, my house was next door to yours Ian Mathewson and my mother knows you.

I'm in Ballingry, drive thru' there most days, place has changed a fair wee bit. No opera house or Old Conemarra pub, loads of new houses an redevelopment.

Lochgelly was a toilet then just as it is today. I returned to Lochgelly last year for a visit and am glad that at 18 I got out for a new life in Stockholm. Wouldn't want to live there again.

The Jube was still open too. Oh, How I miss playing pool and blethering drunken shite in the Jube on my dinner breaks when I worked in Firth Buildings on Auchterderran Road... Good old days..!

The more things change the more they stay the same. Let's see... the Royal Bank then is a house now; there's a mini roundabout at the junction at Lochgelly center these days. I suppose main street will look really different nowadays with some old buildings flattened and new flats and shops going up. Anybody notice the Co op is in exactly the same place more or less? Ha!

then go back to Lochgelly then if London, the capital, is a toilet. So why didn't you just stop in Lochgelly and stay.
