The most captivating and striking desirable feature that I like because it is impressive is that high-rising fences, wall are not built round their houses. Since it is not necessary. This suggests a peaceful, calm, serene and secure neighborhood. Very impressive!

Cary, a suburb of Raleigh, was given an acronym nickname many years ago: Containment Area of Relocated Yankees (CARY), due to the number of New Yorkers that would relocate and often choose Cary as their new home.. This caused me think of acronyms for the Triangle's other cities and the one that I came up with for Raleigh was: Relocated And Local Engineers in Gorgeous Houses. This was due to what you just watched and the fact that Raleigh and the Triangle has a strong STEM economy.

This part of Raleigh(inside the beltline) is not really transplant heavy. It’s more old money southern families that have been in Raleigh or other parts of North Carolina for generations. Most of the transplants tend to live in Cary or North Raleigh.

I’m from Raleigh. And this is definitely the upscale “inside the beltline” part of Raleigh. Houses there are generally 1 million and up. I actually recognize a lot of these homes.

1)Who designs and builds these beautiful suburbs and towns in America? Is it done by private companies or the government? 2)Is the whole suburb built at once or are most of the houses added over time? 3)Are there strict rules for building these houses? It is strange that all the homes have similar structure,size and colors?Do they all have to look similar? 4)Is planting the grass compulsory around your house? Can you plant fruits and veggies instead? How about keeping cattles in the property? I know these are lot of questions but I am just curious about America.

@@cosmicwanderer891 so this is the older more established part of Raleigh. Many of the houses were built in the mid twentieth century, some even earlier and some later on over time. The homes were built by real estate developers. Nowadays you will see smaller older homes being torn down, and replaced by huge sometimes multi million dollar mansions. I’m not a real estate expert so I don’t know much about the building codes or covenants. This part of town is very affluent.

its been a while since I was in Raleigh but that looks like a new development to me. The classic Raleigh style is that middle class neighborhood right off NC State Campus that looks like the Griswold house from National Lampoon Christmas Vacation, with wider streets and sidewalks.

I live in Fayetteville NC, and from my house in the suburbs to Target, Shopping Center, Car wash, fadt food chains, Walmart behind my house, and Tj Max and other stores is 10 to.15 drive. And almost every gated community has their own small shooping area.

This looks like areas of Birmingham Alabama, in the hills and mountains of some of Birminghams oldest and wealthiest neighborhoods, ie. Mountain Brook and Vestavia Hills.

American suburbs are very nice but lack major things like smaller shopping centres with some groceries, beauty saloons (barber’s), a few restaurants etc within a walkable distance so people don’t have to drive many miles for basic needs. And yes, schools should also be within a walkable distance and sidewalks should always be there. Most countries of the world have that, unfortunately these things don’t exist in most American suburbs.

It's a 15 minute neighborhood by car rather than 15 minute by foot. There's pros and cons to each. One isn't always better than the other.

@@delftfietser Well, it’s always better to have a choice: if you want to do major shopping, yes, you can drive for half an hour to a mall, but if you need some basic things you should be able to get them within 10-15 minute walkable distance. American suburbs in its current form don’t provide this choice, and this actually is lack of freedom.
