Thank you for the drive through of the campgrounds! We're heading there for a few days in ten days!

Enjoy. Hope the weather remains good. The campground makes for a great base camp to explore the area.

Nice video. Made a reservation for site 1 🤞 in August, hoping backing in our 1685 will be ok 🥴

I think that site on the upper loop is a pull-thru on the side of the road. Enjoy.

Hi! How far of a walk is the beach from lower level?
@CampoutWithMe10 ай бұрын
The lower campground is pretty big. If you are close to the tent camping sites, which is more or less adjacent to the highway, you literally just cross under the Hwy, and you are practically there. If you need a distance, I'd say a quarter mile.

You mentioned #25 is not totally level. Can two 8x8 tents fit in there? That is at 14:07 of your video.
@CampoutWithMe3 жыл бұрын
You should be able to, but the area where tent was in the video, it's slopped.

@@CampoutWithMe The reason I asked is caused I have 34 also reserved.
@CampoutWithMe3 жыл бұрын
@@AlvinBustamante I see. I think #34 is the first open back-in site in the video after #25. That's a nice one too, with the shade tree and should fit both your tents just fine. It's just a little bit closer to everyone else. #25 definitely gives you more separation. If I'm pitching tent by myself, I'd take #25. If you group is ok sleeping on a slight incline, #25 should be ok. If you can find the Campground number, I'd give them a call as well and inquire about the condition of #25 since the video is >1 year old.

That area was in a drought at the time. This year, we have had plenty of rain.

Horrible video quality.

Unfortunately, the max resolution as recorded and uploaded was 1080P. Probably still OK for tablets but not good on Big Screen TVs.

Wonderful drive-thru report! What surprises me more, is the lack of usage! It looks as tho you made this report just a day before Veteran's Day when I would suspect people would have the day off Nov 11th and some would be arriving "before the crowd" but that's not the situation. So that makes this location even more interesting; a real possibility for first-come/first-serve in the sites. Again, thank you for a very forthright presentation.

I forgot exactly when I went there, as I posted the video kinda late, but it was mid to late September. Anytime before Labor Day, the campground would be more packed but after that weekend, you should be able to get something. I don't know if the current situation has changed or not but a last month (9/2020), CA State Campgrounds do NOT allow same day walk-ins. I found that out when I called ahead while on route to try to get into one but was denied. It's a good base camp to visit all the places nearby.
