Ron Butler there will be a full longe range fpv build on my trx4 done soon. Trying a few different options but it’s crucial to have a separate vtx for more distance I am finding. These aio’s are easy too hookup but I am taking it to the next step. No reason us ground guys can’t explore far as well. The whole series will be on my channel soon. Not trying to hijack your comments guys 😐. Great video

You might want to put the camera in a more protected spot. When I run 1/8th buggy you tend to flip or get nailed in the cornors

Most RC receivers put out 6V and the FPV cameras seem to top out at 5.5v for power requirements. Is it actually safe to be plugging the camera into the receiver box as shown in the video?

I just tried this with my rc car but it did not work, i used a 800 mw vtx wich needs 7 volts to work, just wanted to point out my mistake if anyone else tries this, 25 - 200 mw will probbably be fine with 5 volt

a traxxas summit 1/10 would be a great FPV car, it is not too fast and is great off road. i had one 2 years ago, also RC Sparks did a video way back on a summit fpv setup. nice video btw, going to get into the FPV side of the hobby soon.

Yes you can do this with any type of RC but I will warn you that FPV is less fun the faster you go.. (camera shake gets unbearable and not fun.) Crawlers are the sweet spot for FPV imo.. Feels like you’re over landing in a real truck 👍

If you use a binder clip, you can clip it to multiple locations or if it's glued, you can put wedge blocks in to adjust angle on the go.

They make 5.8g receivers specifically for connecting to a phone, I think android. Otherwise you have basic analog AV signals so if you for example wanted to see it on your computer screen it all depends on your video receiver. I use 5.8g and 1.3g, but I can have both display on any screen that takes AV inputs. Alternatively I have a little AV to HDMI converter I could use to connect to my TV or computer monitor. If your receiver is your goggles, they just need some kind of AV out.

I'd like to see something like this French guy does to his Traxxas X max. He hooked up his truck with 1.2/1.3 video for long range, and I believe he also has dragonink onboard. Pretty sweet setup, and looks like loads of fun. Too bad his videos are in French. I recommend you guys check his channel for inspiration ! Actually the camera setup was very informative, as for trucks, the ARRMA Talion and the Axial short course struck. Would be interested, in your opinions on both. Talion looks to be the mother of all insane bashers and the Axial SCT looks in video to be on very scale suspension geometry. Down side is both these models are spendy.But there is that new Redcat SCT that claims to be 60mph out of the box. AND a intersting budget truck that is not getting alot of play the Kyosho 2WD with the prerunner 70's Ranger style body and the swing arm mounted MOA, motor on axel, looks like it would be quick. MOA at first looks a bit retrograde but there is metal MOA axel assemblies for high end rock racers and upgradable metal swing arms as well. I have a feeling it is highly under rated model. And compared to other Kyosho products fairly inexpensive. DO is great. Waiting for your first custom build..... done between 4 and 5 in the morning to fit in with all the other stuff you guys do.

So I bought my daughter a big blue four-wheel drive remote control truck from Wally world probably last year, she doesn't use it and I'm sitting here looking at it and the four-wheel drive is really good it can go through some really gnarly stuff, and it has metal body plates on it that you can unscrew so it looks like it would be maudible but I don't know if it's worth doing this with or you can use just any cheap old car. I was actually thinking of a more advanced set up with a gimbale camera, and maybe a solid mounted one like that on the front bumper, I was also thinking of adding more batteries and extending the range. The only real con that I have about the car it turn radius sucks, and it's a bit top-heavy but that won't be a factor once there's batteries in it

I've just picked up a Traxxas Stampede 4X4: (1/10 Scale 4wd Monster Truck with TQ 2.4GHz Radio). I'm building an RTV (Remote Trap Vehicle) as featured in Ghostbusters: Afterlife. I've also picked up a Futaba digital proportional radio control system (Model FP-T4FG). So far, it's the least expensive thing I've acquired for the build at $35 +shipping BUT...There's no guarantee the battery works, there isn't a charging cable, no servos and it's not 2.4Ghz complient....yet. I'm hoping to install the guts of the truck's controller into the housing of the Futaba while at the same time adding further functionality with including the ability to open/close the trap doors, activate lights/smoke & shound). I'll be dedicating the build to the director of the 1984 Ghostbusters film, Ivan Reitman. Tall order? Got any tips? Looking forward to hearing back!

I would love to see something like you guys did on Flite Test... 1.3ghz to 5.8ghz relay into goggles. My Aurora 9 tested at almost a mile LOS with my Tamiya Hornet.(strange that it will go much further in the air... must be ground effect) I live on a dead end road 2 miles long, no traffic but me and tractors. From the top of the hill to the stop sign is 1 mile exactly.

If you wanted to go further, get a VTX that goes above 25mw and for the camera- use a fpv/hd recorder like the Runcam Split2 or Caddix Turtle. Also for the people who want to know there battery life can get cameras that show the voltage, would have to power a different way maybe a "T" joiner where the power connects? Just some thoughts on that- thanks for the info on the 5v, wasn't 100% sure on the output power

the cameras used on the trucks are a combined camera and vtx (most likely 5.8) so it is transmitting on a 5.8 channel (there should be a variety of 5.8 channels available on the vtx) and your goggles will also need a 5.8 receiver. you can also get 1g3 and 2.4 transmitters and receivers so just make sure your transmitter and receiver are on a matching bandwidth but the norm is 5.8

I have Traxxas Banit model 2048 and this thing is kinda rare. They don't stock the items so I have to make new ones or upgrade this baby. Here’s a way easier way (with steps). 1- Buy a GoPro 2- Download the GoPro app 3- Connect the GoPro to your device 4- Go to the GoPro app and tap the house icon, then the camera at the top left corner 5- tap the next camera icon in the middle of the screen 6- record BOOM

My little vtx+cam combo says 2.5-5.5v, but my receiver on my car is putting out 5.9v. Will that work or will I fry the camera? I had it hooked up to a little battery, and that works fine. Then I decided to wire it to the balance lead on my battery, which worked, but the signal drops out often. Thought it was coincidence, but it doesn't happen when hooked up to the little battery.

I tried a simple setup but with an external vtx and so on but I wasn't receiving any power via a receiver port I would of played with the bec but it's a brushed crawler so guessing it would work easier on one of my brushless rigs instead

I have a traxxas revo the reciever has 4 slots and 3 channels all 4 are used 3 by the throttle steering and trans f/r servos the last I believe is used by the saftey shut-off how then do I connect to my reciever power the main power is 6v so I believe I could just tap into the battery and installing a separate switch??? Any input would be appreciated appreciated

I got the problem when use a google. Everytime i pull the throttle the view is always make a disruption. The view on my google is jello and make a line. And when i turn off my transmitter, the horizontal line is gone. Whats the problem?

Do you have any issue with heat from the VTX? I have a AIO I put on my rc car and it gets really hot.. no idea if there is a thermal shutoff and im scared of overheating it. Ive got the wolfwoop 3. I read they are made in mind that there its gonna be flying with lots of air flow but with a slow rc car there is much less cooling. You said you when on hour long fpv ride with them? what was the temps like? Thank you :)
