Driver chooses the harder option

Showing your drivers license and taking a ticket for attended illegal parking is cheaper and easier than being ticketed or towed for unattended illegal parking.
The purpose of showing your license to the enforcer is for your name and license number to be included on the ticket, so it can be tied up to the correct person.
No parking is allowed along 20th Avenue, due to the high volume of traffic that passes through this road. Likewise, it's prohibited to park on a pedestrian crossing.

They really want to give everyone a fair chance and an informed option (even if they should already know). But sometimes you just cannot help someone. I just wish the drivers friends had tried to convince him to simply hand over his license. Because this will be a much bigger headache for the driver, compared to the ticket that he could have accepted.

They wont care because, in the first place, they don’t really own the bus. Let the bus company deal with their mistake. Paying a ticket is a huge dent on their income. They’d rather risk getting fired than having to part with their money

The SCOG team are certainly very lenient. It seems to be their general policy that if the owner of an item is there, they will allow them to remove it. And only after a bazillion encounters, they'll confiscate it. If the owner isn't there to move it, that's the time they confiscate it. That's very different from a certain city that has their own sidewalk clearing operations and basically just throw everything straight onto the truck, whether the owner is there or not.

MMDA should really apply a standard when asking for the license. Ask only 3 times, on the 3rd time, explicitly state that "this is the last time I will ask for the license, else you are getting towed". I get that you want to be amicable in the performance of your duty, but it's clear that a lot of people abuse that.

Regarding badges, many police officers either flash their badges to get free rides, or proactively assume they don’t have to pay when they’re in uniform or show their badges. Some even threaten conductors. And they wonder why they’re not being respected.

If they are licensed they should know the law! MMDA or which ever agency it is shouldn't have to explain laws of the road! Explain the violation once, request the license, ticket and move on. If the driver doesn't produce a license tow or clamp the vehicle! I also believe that only police should be allowed to stop moving violations due to the risks involved!

Whenever it gets full, they just re-arrange the junk that hasn't been claimed for a long time. Most vehicles get claimed on the same day, or next day. But some do get abandoned forever.

They'll pay the ticket for unattended illegal parking, which is P2000. They'll also pay the towing fee, which is based on the vehicle weight (categories) and distance from the impound. Typically it would be around P3000 - P4000. But it can be more.

People know whether they have a garage, before buying the car Many people even converted their garage into an extended living space or store, and started parking on the road 🤷 If they don't have a space, the option would be the paid parking lot, like what I showed in this video.
