Dont back seat police. When you realize you have to pay taxes for the damage that get's done to those cruisers, and how that affects their ability to do their job while repairs take place, you will probably have a bit more respect for them exercising restraint like that. Not to mention, the cruiser we are watching from doesn't have a pit bar like the units it let pass to do the pit. once again, dont back seat police. Especially if you havent done anything they are doing.

Actually witnessed this in person. Was walking back to my car from wingstop. I am surprised they let him go for so long considering the amount of traffic there was. It was during rush hour and on one of the busiest roads in the area.

Some of you need to remember - NOT all officers on a police force are pit trained. That is why the lead patrol car allowed the other car to take lead, they were pit trained. You can sit here and criticize all you want, but I don't see any of you stepping up to do this freaking job. Until then PIPE THE FK DOWN! They got him stopped without any injury to the public.

I am appalled that police lets these chases go on for so long. As soon as it’s clear that a car is running, they should PIT quickly and decisively. Damage to the cruiser is the best outcome considering the risks to the public. I will never understand this.

That's because you've never been sued multiple times and most of the times people would just get mad and everyone would be on the news. Just out of curiosity, what's the level you'd find appropriate to stop these fast? Stage a cop in front, then just open fire on the driver when they pass? Seems less risky for others than a pit on a public road.

Looks like that department didn't train and certify and equip the right officer for PIT maneuvers. All these other bumbling idiots have the reinforced front ends and couldn't pit open a box of cereal, while the camera unit followed at kept up at every turn and was available for PITting this guy 4 times.

At the end of a chase like this, you just gotta fill the entire inner space of the car with bullets and haul the entire thing off to the land fill. After you do enough of these, further incidents will decline precipitously.
