This really is a love letter to the first two Driver games. Seeing Driver 2 with a functional framerate is incredible, let alone actual draw distance!

It's definitely a refreshing perspective! Some places look incredible with it, though with others you can tell the draw distance really also help hide away just how bad some of it looks.

That draw distance is tremendous. And isn't it funny that PS1 Vegas looks more realistic, compared to PS2 Las Ventura, which has a cartoonish look?

Driv3r has a similar way to portrait it's cities. I've been to Niece and the atmosphere in the game is very similar to its real counterpart. I bet that for Miami is the same. In GTA VC I've always felt like that the cityscape was a fiction of a fiction

@@riccardoman7620 yes, I also remember the modeling, colors, textures and lightning having a realistic atmosphere. Even Stuntman had realistic portrayal of London, Monaco, Egypt, Bangkok etc.

0:17 no grass sand effect on pc like ps1... 2:20 looks like it's floating without shadow below the car ... 2:47 it was good to eliminate the smoke when turning at any directions

Well that's a pre-alpha release Lightning, shadows, effects, skybox, AI cars, etc. will come but the render distance is already 100x times higher at 3 times the framerate

No smoke effects, no destruction effects, no light effects, no reflections, no traffic, no peds, more texture flickering issues… Framerate and view distance might be better but everything else is much worse than PS1 version.

Amazing stuff. Any plans to add a depth fog effect later down the line to offset the "GTA remaster effect" that makes the maps feel less big than they used to? It's not as much of an issue here because Driver always had more expansive maps than GTA, but adding some fog would be really important for the sense of scale.

Fog was already added (as a test feature) in ReDriver 2 so I have no doubt that Soapy could do the same for Open Driver!

Lightning is not fully there yet, hence the lack of shadows. It is a pre alpha, be sure it will be added further down the road!

ReDriver 2 is a port of the PS1 version at 30 FPS and 3x the render distance Open Driver supports Driver 1 & 2 content at 60 FPS and unlimited render distance!

The up to date version (not shown here) has already better visuals (shadows notably). It is still a very early stage of the game/tool, but I guess that features to tweak the visuals to your liking will be added in the future!

When I go to do the Job Interview mission, as soon as I start doing the stunts in the garage, the following messages will appear: "Mission script error, see console for details. Use "mission_reloadScript" command the restart" And then the clock stops and it doesn't recognize any more maneuvers... I really don't know what to do! I tried to find help on the forum without success... Can you help me? Please?
