This driver’s apology now is simply too little, too late. He, along with the higher authorities in the vehicle, should have shown respect for the lady officer at the moment of apprehension. Instead, they attempted to run her over, evaded arrest, and blatantly resisted lawful enforcement. How many more in our society feel “entitled” to ignore laws and disrespect those who uphold them? Just because someone is a government official, or related to one, or wealthy, does not grant them immunity. This behavior must end-no one is above the law. It’s time we hold all citizens accountable, regardless of status or connections.
