Can't wait to see the new Glenroy station! Been living here 18 years (my whole life) and the old station was an eyesore

@@tressteleg1 Sorry, what I should have said is that I'm happy to see a new Melbourne train driver's view in a long time. I've seen all those as well as the tram vids. I'm an avid follower!

Presumably my viewers live in different states, so I try to share the subject material around to keep everyone happy every now and then. The general intent is that videos on one particular location or type of vehicle are about a month apart. It’s only five weeks since Dandenong Pre-Dawn Part 2 was published.
@YoungHarry10003 жыл бұрын
@@tressteleg1 I understand, I enjoy your videos regardless of their locations. I like the Melb videos most because that's where I grew up. I live in Canada now.

@@YoungHarry1000 Okay. I suppose you had some reason for going to Canada, but I certainly could not put up with a cold. Even Gold Coast winters are enough for me! I’m working on the Sydney Metro for Friday.

Excellent video, Love the HD quality on this one, your vids are getting better and better tressteleg1. Can you please try and get one of the rebuilding of the Preston railway station and the skyrail over Bell Street Preston? That was very interesting about the trip arm and the air brakes, there is far more involved to a train driver than simply driving a train.........
@tressteleg13 жыл бұрын
I can only publish what the driver takes for me, and normally have no idea what that is until I pick up the next disk from him, hopefully in February. Last year’s one was about 1 TB of data!

And I thought that the stations from Fremantle to Midland in Perth were closely spaced stations !
@tressteleg13 жыл бұрын
I presume that this line has even closer stations. When these lines were built, nobody had cars so there was no park and ride or bicycles so stations had to be close enough to walk to.

Thanks for your kind words. Before making any firm decision, it would be a good idea to chat to a few drivers at a terminus or upstairs at Flinders Street station where they hang out at the windows above the tracks, and ask them about the good points and bad points about the job.

Interesting video, thanks. Must have been sunday morning ? Because so less people on all the platforms. But if so, why they operate a 6-car train at this time ? A 2-car would'nt be enough ?
@tressteleg13 жыл бұрын
I don’t know what day it was taken, but probably due to Covid, loading is well less than normal. And of course in the mornings, everybody would be heading into town, not out of town. When the train arrives at Craigieburn, there are plenty of people on that station.

Comeng trains (or any of the other suburban fleet) can't be marshalled as 2 car, only 3 or 6.

Nice Video. Here in germany there was a computer fail on the signal system and for about 12 hours no trains runed around here. Even the high speed ICE trains from Berlin to Munich where in involed and at the end the whole problem was because for about 30 seconds of power fail. Technik can help us but sometimes it will stop us 😉

The driver’s camera takes really remarkable quality video. I only process these in 720p and that in itself comes to around 2 GB, which KZbin cuts down substantially.
