Driver Side Grab Handle INSTALLED on my 2022 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro

Super easy install! Took less than 15 mins to do start to finish on my 2022 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro… highly recommend. I saw mixed reviews on this KTJO 4x4 Driver Side Grab Handle… but I’m super impressed! Great quality, straight forward install and matching colors/materials to the passenger side grab handle.
What are your thoughts? Have you considered this mod for your Toyota Tacoma?

I wanted a driverside grab handle on my Tundra until I put a suction cup RAM mount on the windshield in that area to hold the phone instead. Perfect spot for the phone for Nav, etc. Glad I didn't get the grab handle. Lol

This company was bad, to get your order took forever and if you want a refund they wouldn’t grant you one, also most of the hands came damaged, getting the company to make it right was impossible, it’s a good idea but terrible customer service. I just installed it (KTJO V2) on my 2023 Tacoma it took me 27 minutes from start to finish the trick for me was to use a magnetic screwdriver to catch the bottom screw, I personally think they should have used a bolt the way they used for the top. Anyway I really like it as for driving with it I really don’t even notice it.

Where did you get your grab handle from? They are completely out of stock on the KJTO website and other third-party websites that I found as well 😮‍💨.

@@retro_lover9769 I purchased it from their website 2 months ago I kept on going back and forth prior to the purchase because so many KZbin videos claimed it was difficult to install. I did notice the black one was out of stock, but it didn’t matter to me because I needed the grey one. Delivery was about 7 business days like I mentioned it was easy just take your time, you need to push it towards the windshield as you are trying to catch the bottom screw. I went to Home Depot to get a bolt to use instead of the screw prior to installing it but of course they didn’t have it should have went to a hardware store but I was to lazy at that point.

I purchased it from their website about 2-3 months ago very easy to install like I mentioned in my previous comment. I was going back-and-forth for several weeks because several videos where saying how difficult it was, to install and it took about 7 business days to arrive. Prior to installation I went to Home Depot to get the bottom bolt instead of using the Phillips screw that they provide and of course they didn’t have it, should have went to a hardware store but at that point I was too lazy. I did notice the black one was out of stock but it didn’t matter because I needed the gray one. Take your time installing it. You need to push it towards the windshield while trying to catch the bottom screw if you have someone helping you it will be better.

Is yours the V1 or V2? I installed the V2 last night. It took MUCH longer than 15 minutes. Aligning the bolt and the screw takes numerous attempts. My biggest complaint is that the handle and A pillar flex. It's not solid, and I can't get the bolt and screw any tighter without stripping the metal. I'm super disappointed in this unit. How much does your flex (compared to the passenger side) when you pull on it?

PRO TIP: For those of you having issues threading in the top bolt, it's a minor alignment issue. On my 2019, the original bolt hole was angled too far upwards. To fix this, you can thread in one of the bolts, and then just apply gentle downward pressure to get the hold to angle slightly downwards to match the new handle. It's just thin sheet metal so it's somewhat pliable.

Have you tried taping the bottom receiving button into place? That way it’ll hold perfectly as you behind screwing in the bolt. The tape will be covered up anyway. 👍

grab handle not installed on driver side for safety reason. The handle would block driver’s visibility to some angle.

With some decent marketing these handles would sell like crazy with all of the 4runner and tacoma owners. I don't see one install video or even a video of the product for the 4runner.

If I was gonna buy a new Tacoma and there was no grab handle, and there was no aftermarket grab handles on the market it would be a deal breaker for me , I use mine on my 2010 every time I get in the truck . * side note : They should put them in Fire Engines ( we had one of the guys on our dept that was about 200 pounds overweight , every time he would get in the fire engine he would grab the steering wheel to pull himself up and in , ….let’s just say the steering wheel was no longer perfectly round )
