Driver who hit new bride, groom on Folly Beach had blood alcohol level over three times legal limit

Jamie Komoroski had a level of .261, according to the Folly Beach Dept. of Public Safety. She was charged with three counts of felony DUI resulting in great bodily injury and one count of vehicular homicide for the April 28 crash.

This is happening too often now. They need to start coming down hard on anyone who drives whilst under the influence. Watching some videos and some suspects are up in court on their 5th or 6th DUI charge. Time for zero tolerance for DUI.

i really believe they should show these incidents in school or something just like they do D.A.R.E etc to really teach the importance of planning to have a designated driver ahead of going out. These things werent taught like other safety things in DARE etc about saying no to drugs or use condemst safe sex std checks/etc in health classes, they should teach about drunk driving dangers & how to plan ahead. It would make it more "real" that this could happen to you & is an important deterent

Wow thats pretty crazy...no she didnt want to kill someone, yes people should know not to drive drunk, but delibertly intentionally killing a person & believing wrongly that you can drive drunk & not do so, or that youre capable enough to drive(as being drunk in itself alters you perception of this) is not the same as intentionally killing a person. @@ar4203 who cares if they’re on suicide watch? They are trying to run away from taking responsibility for their actions, not Jill themselves because they feel bad for the victim. It doesn’t make sense to want to jill yourself out of grief like that, more likely she wants to Jill herself because this accident has ruined her reputation and she is totally just thinking about her own situation, not the one of the family. I see you want people to be sympathetic towards the drunk driver, but we can’t defend evil actions and decisions like this. Just because she wasn’t thinking of the consequences doesn’t mean she shouldn’t face any. Everybody who drinks alcohol should be put on a registry or list, they are dangerous.

Hope the family sues for emotional distress as well as the husband. Hope he sues Jamie too. The emotional damage I would have. Just marrying the love of my life. Watching your daughter, sister, cousin, friend get married to the love of her life. And it be taken away that quick. I wouldn’t be able to live with myself. I have never been suicidal. That would be a no question for me. I hope they all are mentally ok. I hope they have support. This is so sad.

Duis need to be taken way more seriously. I no someone who was 30 years old he had just got a truck n license, no insurance or registration, and within 30, days of having a license got a dui, was only punished with “30 days no licence n breathalyzer, get insurance n registration” well.. he didn’t get a breathalyzer for the first 4 months n got into a second dui, still no insurance or registration. His punishment for a 2nd dui with out insurance n reg was a breathalyzer, 200 hours community service (un supervised) he legit made up his community service n did a fake signature n didn’t do a single hour of the community service. It’s fucking bullshit. Not to mention when he got insurance finally they didn’t even see he had 2 duis! They actually told him he had a spotless record n gave him an amazing deal! He was a new driver his insurance shoulda been so high. He pays $75 for 2 duis. But I pay $170 for one not at fault accident. Fucking bullshit

It was quite apparent what occurred and the poor bride Died at the scene. The drunk woman wasn't even hurt and her friends/family can still communicate with her. The bride's friends and family only have memories because the drunk woman robbed them of SO MUCH. What a shame, my ♥ go out for the bride and her family.

I disagree. If one of my sisters or other close relatives got this drunk and drove, I'd be furious with them too, even if no accident occurred. Driving drunk is a selfish act. You put not only yourself at risk, but those around you too. So yes, I'd be very upset with my own family if they did what she did. In fact, a good family friend of ours got himself killed after speeding and crashing at 109mph. He was drunk. Even though I loved the guy and would excitedly run over to hug him during his visits with us, his very last action on earth made me angry. He killed himself, and could have killed someone else in the act (thankfully he didn't - he was the only victim). And in response to golf carts and street legality, that shouldn't even matter because the driver should have seen them and been able to stop for them, just like ANY other road obstruction. Only reason she crashed into them is because she was so drunk that she couldn't react properly.
