This seems like it would be great for self sustained pig farming. Put down 3 of these for corn, soybeans, and sugar beets, plant a wheat field for the straw and the grain needed, get the AGI pack to make seeds out of any excess, and you've got a pig farm that only requires replanting of the wheat with no need to buy anything other than the seed making stuff for the one AGI auger after the initial start I would love to know the comparison between this and precision farming as well!

5 of these running corn for the first year of the game (maybe first 2 years) after that... run cotton. Only cotton. LOTS of cotton. Use the money from the initial corn to buy a Spinery and a Tailor Shop, set the spinery(ies) to distribute and (if you have the Fixed Crop Prices mod) set the Tailor(s) to auto-sell. Once you have that sweet, sweet Clothing money, increase the number of greenhouses, spineries, and Tailor shops until the outputs and imputs are fully balanced (for the OCD of it lol)... and then pass/sleep through like 15-20 years and buy the entire map in less than 2 hours of gameplay. Ignore chickens, forget about silage, leave the trees alone. Open Air Gardens is THE fs22 meta. This mod BREAKS the game. If you don't like cheesing, use this mod very, very carefully. Bless OmaTana, she is a saint. (Edit: If you are on console, download this mod, and all the other mods you might want, NOW. And then disconnect your system from the internet forever. Giants should never have let this thing exist, and will probably force-nerf it)

With Distribution you can distribute in olive greenhouse mode. Gardens are best for start production chains. They are one of 1st things I add on farm when starting new map. Fertilize is eazy to get from slurry-fertilize mod

Great video and info. Just as a side note though, be careful on how many you place because there is a limit for production facilities that you can place on a map. I'm unsure what that number is but I saw it on mrsealyp western wilds video

The limit is 60 production items for console. There is also a mod available on modhub for PC players that will increase that limit to 120.

This mod comes with a hand pump in Containers, and it pumps water for free. And I totally agree, these gardens are the best, especially for production.

My problem with this MOD, is that it is too powerful. I like the idea that it allows you to dabble in a crop you would not normally deal with. I have heard many people say they really like this MOD, but don't use it because it produces too much. (compared to field work and field). I would like to see a study of what an open garden produces compare to traditional farming. Ex. Corn. Open garden for 1 year compared to corn planted in field. (one season) How big does the field have to be to be equal to the output of the garden. Thank you for all your hard work.

I love it when production buildings allow you to take everythin' back out if you don't want it in that production', I think that should have been part of the base game. It would be nice if animal buildings did the same thing, Just sayin'

Your videos are the best I love a good excel sheet. This mod is great I always use it especially on my smaller farms. Sometimes the crops look dead which is weird but they still function

So if you put around 6 of these greenhouses with each producing a different type of crop each will it still divide the production it makes or no?

It only divides the production within a greenhouse when that greenhouse is running more than 1 recipe.

going to watch. when i placed it did not fill the water and the production costs were insane. also last night global transport bags placed in front of olive tree and open air garden, would not allow me to fill tree/garden with water after. no trigger, not full, solid bag not liquid one

Sounds like you have a mod conflict. I had only a handful of mods installed when I recorded this video and everything seemed to be ok.

@@Driver53Gaming ya possible on ps4. screwy things been happening. farm production barn was trying to put flour palets in and spit back out. got some to work think barn was full.

@@Atrip111 with some of those production mods they will spawn a pallet of flour if they can be used as an input as well, say for bread. You will need to set the output to distributing to keep it inside the facility. It will also distribute to any other facility that accepts flour though.

i havnt figured out a way yet, but i also havnt tried to much but thinking about it, makes me ask, can you feed livestock using greenhouse crates?

Think it is bugged right now. I put down like 9 of them. Then I got the large Water Semi Tanker to top off the water in them. It took 1 1/2 tankers if not less to top all off. So might be a update soon. Only did the water Crop only. No seeds or fertilizer. I had the two rows of 4 and then one odd one at the end. So I could drive down one roll top them off, then do a long wide turn and go back the next roll, with the last one closes to the water source last. I got the first notice to start filling. empty almost the whole tanker besides 3-4K. Then no notice till I reached the one by itself.

You might have these too close together and are getting inputs from multiple facilities combined together.

Best bet is to place it close by and fill a tanker.

@@Driver53Gaming Ok about to give up here. Distributor set up and filled with use of pump, thank you. Only 1 open air garden set up and activated for lettuce, had 6 but trying to troubleshoot this. Water set up to distribute but it is not reaching the garden, showing Status of Material missing, being no water. Have not used this particular garden since update. Sure it's something stupid I am missing. Where's the Police departments on these maps by the way? Asking for a friend. Thanks for any and all help.
