Though I’m not getting mad at you, or I’m not going to argue with you, I’m here to just say though my nureodivergence might not have to do with this or it slightly does but most of this is me just going to say this: I’m grateful to see, some video of Waymo’s from a news channel or from someone on, KZbin, years back, it was the first time I knew of Self-Driving cars existed in real life, I was a kid when, Waymo was first, Google’s self-driving car, so umm, maybe yeah but, at the same time it’s good to know, about them, not many knew/ they never told us….??? So yeah, if I didn’t know by a video, then I might’ve jumped being shocked by seeing a self-driving car, if I was ever stuck by one, or even if I know how to drive.
@NovaTheSinger2 ай бұрын
Btw, yeah I never heard of Google Self-Driving car when I was a kid, to specify that I never again ever heard of, Self-Driving cars/ I never seen one before until a video on KZbin years back. Also, I never had KZbin/ I never had any internet access in my home, of my childhood, I only saw, KZbin once in 2005, when KZbin had its original CEO and Team, and This was maybe in June? At elementary school because one of my classmates showed me a music video on, KZbin.

12:50 the person waving even though no one is in the car lol that's a cute interaction tho. Waymo is so nice also it's kinda cool how it can predict gonna be honest if i was a driver i would not stop lmao 💀😭

Do you mean you wouldn't stop for a pedestrian with intent to cross? Where I live (The Netherlands) you can generally trust drivers to stop, although you sometimes need to be a bit assertive in your body language. I've noticed in abroad it's usually not so nice. Out of genuine curiosity, why wouldn't you stop? Coming from where I'm from (and probably who I am) I cannot wrap my head around it
@pennytrui114910 ай бұрын
@@noelvandeven8295 you might know my country the Netherlands owned us and we got our independence in 1975 I live in Suriname 🇸🇷. Usually here it's not common to stop for people to cross usually if you want to cross here it's up to the pedestrian to look out if it's save to cross. Only way people here will stop for you is if maybe you are an old person or they see you're like a young school kid then they might stop.

Los Angeles is very car-centric. The law is for cars to stop if they see a pedestrian waiting, but in reality many will not stop, and pedestrians are used to waiting until there are no cars approaching. But if the pedestrian starts to enter the crosswalk, almost all cars will stop.
@Scn645 ай бұрын
I'm impressed that it got that right. Sometimes it can be a little difficult to determine intent to cross even for a human driver. You have to take cues from the position of the body, which way they're facing, if they're looking at you, how close they are to the street, etc. I wonder if the person had been facing the opposite direction (back towards street) but still just as close if the car would have stopped.

16:16 Although recently I saw it choose a spot for pickup blocking a lane, then say 'nah' and relocate once someone pulled up behind. Like it actually shifted to park and the unlock button popped up

Awesome video! :) I’m always curious about these cars, though I might not go into one, because I’m a bit scared to be in a car that drives on its own. It’s interesting! And Maybe, I would like to see how they improve, actually any self driving car company because I heard/ seen there was a company doing about the same, named, Cruise. Though, it would’ve been nice if the public knew of these when they started, because I didn’t even know, there was any self driving cars out and about, just starting, until I saw a video of them once but not when it first was, Google Self-Driving Cars in 2009, when I was a kid back then.

Hi, I love this video! I’m in LA tomorrow and was hoping to take Waymo around. I’ve ridden them quite a lot in Chandler and Phoenix and was hoping to try it out in a new city. It’s a long shot, but do you have any invite codes?

Hi Luke, unfortunately I do not. I would try sending DM to Waymo on Twitter or Instagram to see if they can help.

I drive a Tesla for my company car, and I gotta tell you… the representation of humans as circles as well as the markings on the roads and the fact that it split up the bus into two parts because in fact, the bus was two parts is very, very interesting. It’s funny because the Tesla operating system I feel is really limited in what can be displayed due to the view of the cameras. I feel like Tesla can definitely learn something simply just from the operating system that this jaguar is using. OK hold up the fact that it displays police vehicles with lights differently is pretty sick. You have to admit. That’s definitely something that Tesla doesn’t have.

I like the videos, interesting. The criticism ( not by you kevin) is a bit much for what I think is fallowing the rules and regulations of traffic, remember that accidents happen when we humans get too comfortable behind the wheel, we text, we take our eyes out of the road, we have our minds distracted by our daily routine stress and so on and so forth. Instead this technology is has one thing and one thing only to do and think about “drive fallowing the rules and regulations and above all the safety of the human/s that are traveling in the car, with that in mind overall I think this drive/ ride was safe and at no point dangerous. Question, do you know if this cars use the horn and if do so when/ why? I really enjoy your videos educate people like me that we don’t have this service in our city yet.
