@@1012maryannmm we live in egypt so i think it cost us around 1 mil in Egyptian pounds (with taxes) (everything in egypt is way to expensive and costs more money than like the USA and other countrys)which is equal to around 63k usd but this is the one with the T5 motor so it's the better one, also it's the 2021 version.

As for the engine start stop automatic: I own (here in Austria) a '21 XC40 T5 Recharge (PHEV). The big advantage of plug in hybrids or mild hybrids is, that the electric motor delivers full momentum at any speeds, even if it's zero. So you nearly have crossed the intersection while the engine in a conventional car has just started... :-)

I LOVE my 2020 xc40. It was a close call between it and the new Audi Q3, but the Volvo is just a fun, easy car to live with. I have the 20” wheels and the ride quality doesn’t bother me at all. The suspension does a great job handling big potholes and bumps. Definitely spring for the Convenience Package though.

Just thought I'd give some feedback if you are thinking of buying the car. I have the 2019 XC40 T5. Overall I like the car but three things that really annoyed me and I have told Volvo, but I don't think they would ever fix it. 1. It has wireless charging for your mobile at the front and it also has start/stop engine to conserve petrol. However, when start/stop feature is turned on, your wireless mobile charge also turned off/on. For an hour's drive, expect to charge about 5-10% of your mobile. 2. The centre screen does not auto turn off. I just wish that after playing with the centre controls, that the screen will turn it self off after a few minutes if no one is touching it. 3. The apps are fixed. You cannot update the apps and the apps do not update themselves. Even if there is a newer version out. I have been trying to update my Android Auto app but I can't. If anyone is reading this and know how to fix my above issues. Please let me know. Thank you.

Laminated panoramic roof means the glass is laminated, like the front window. The glass will crack in an accident not shatter. Nothing to do with the sun shade.

I think this is one of the best looking subcompact SUVs out there, they look very sharp, and I think it is an interesting choice if you can refrain from ticking too many of the option/package boxes. I'd start by nixing the 20-inch wheels--no thanks! I don't know it sells in comparison to the BMW/Lexus offerings in this segment, but I'd sure think if you are shopping for a luxury subcompact CUV/SUV, this would be worth a look. In any event, really appreciate all that you do when you bring us these reviews and how you present your content. I look forward to your next one!

The 2020 XC40 R-Design is my 3rd Volvo. My first was a 2016 XC90 the first model year of the new design. The only additional extra it had -- leather seats. Then I went to the 2019 XC60 R-design with a bigger suite of extras. I just got a near fully loaded 2020 XC40 R Design. The only thing it doesn't have -- sadly - is the HK sound system my XC60 had.. as STANDARD in R-Design. Unfortunate it's not standard on the 40. Aside from that -- and the very real fact mentioned this review -- the 20" tires -- will make you feel EVERY road issue. And with American roads in constant steep decline, you will feel it. I looked at the BMW X1, The small Lexus and the small Audi Q3. NOTHING compares to Volvo. I'm a BMW lover -- I've owned 4 of them -- they are great -- but when I switched to SUV's -- nothing compares to Volvo. Looks and safety -- all amazing. The X1 is dull and boring looking. The Lexus -- no power. Both my R-Designs came with POLESTAR ENGINEERED ENGINE MAPPING -- adding a bit more HP feel and torque. The XC40 -- with that option is FAST. The standard Mustang next to you will look in awe as you take off from a stoplight. And compared to the VERY plastic/cheap feel of Lexus NX or UX -- get the Volvo. Lexus has great models -- but the low-end NX and UX --- not premium luxury at all. Volvo is where it's at..

i leased but the price negotiated was around 44k.. down from more than 47... lease had a MF of .00095 residual of 56% - i am a returning customer to my volvo dealer and got a very low down payment.. never pay more than about 1000... out the door which includes first month pmt. It was less than 1200 i don''t quite recall the.. and my pmt is about 570/mo 36mo 12k mi/yr

@@holamoco seats are comfortable. on the level of the 60 an 90... maybe onot. remember they are on the SPA platform. the 40 is on the CMA platform, so seats are built different. still better than other brands i'd say. road noise ... i hear more in the 40 than in the 60 or 90. ESPECIALLY at speeds 75 and over. if you are on a mostly smooth road at 65... no issues. bumpy ones, the fatter tires will make you feel it. remember.. all volvos are stiffer feeling than most brands.

Great video and you’re being spoilt by Volvo where you are. This certainly isn’t the case for the UK models. We’ve had a massive cull of the specs and almost every feature you mention has either gone or is an expensive option as part of a pack. Is Blind Spot Monitoring really standard? It’s a £1550 ($2,000) option here! The full list known, as of today, of the downgrading is as follows; Paddle shifters on R Design. REMOVED Twin exit chrome exhausts. REMOVED Embossing on leather seats. REMOVED Embossing on C Pillar. REMOVED Embossing on tread plates. REMOVED Electric folding rear seats. REMOVED Folding rear head rests. REMOVED Close & Lock button on trunk. REMOVED And now only one key delivered. We all know about the ‘Care Key’ that cannot be linked to driver profiles and no profiles can be called up from the infotainment screen. Volvo have even deleted the stalwart ticket holder from the A Pillar! I’ve ordered an Inscription Pro and was really disappointed to find out, after I’d ordered, of all of the deletions.

I was cross shopping this with the Subaru Outback XT Touring, and to be fair, I have owned 3 Volvo sedans in my past. For the price, I could not justify the Volvo badge. They both have good AWD systems, they both have large vertically oriented infotainment systems, they both have flexible storage capacity and good, torquey 4 cylinder turbos. But, that Subaru gives you more at the price point. More room, more ground clearance, more HP and Torque, premium nappa leather and lower maintenance costs.

I'm curious about the use of the center touch pad. In your reviews you don't change the radio stations or adjust the climate control while driving. Having experienced 2 nearly head on collisions-one from a Tesla and another from a Buick (both drivers were adjusting something on their center consoles), I had to lean on my horn to snap them back into their lanes. It seems counter intuitive to go with a touchpad, which may require more driver attention than knobs, looking for the right page and the right GUI button. Can you include interfacing with these controls while doing 60mph? -thanks!

A lot of that stuff isn't standard at least in UK. For the R design BLIS is part of the intellisafe pack. Seats are nubuck/leather combo. Wheels are 18" standard even on r design. Carplay/Android auto is extra. I'm surprised that the simple stuff that should be standard just isn't, a company that brags about safety makes you pay extra for blind spot system AND power child locks in the back (£85 its not a lot but why is that not standard?!) Also only reverse parking sensors are standard, extra for front sensors and camera for the rear parking. Also active bending headlights are not standard (unless you get R design pro version). Just ordered mine but the choice was this or Q3 sportback for my company car, still chose the Volvo but annoyed that R design standard doesnt have that much on it to say it's not the basic momentum trim. Hope I don't regret it!

With a job change we’re considering this or Audi Q3 - probably this in the Petrol Inscription model due to R being too bumpy a ride and the wheels just adding to that, I like comfort as in the U.K. it’s potholes and bumps on roads everywhere! Nice Review on the xc40. Just wondering if you could compare the front seats in the xc40 to the ones in the xc60. I read several complaints about the seats in the xc40 as being uncomfortable especially on longer drives. I prefer the size of the xc40 but I will consider the xc60 if the seats are indeed more comfortable.

The seats feel identical in size. The biggest difference is when you select sport seats with R-Design vs regular seats with Momentum and Inscription. I did not like the R-Design seats that much, felt too aggressive for me. Go try them out and see.

Do you need to be connected via USB for CarPlay to work? It has to be wired for the 2020 XC90 which is annoying as hell. Any little jostle can disconnect the iPhone. It’s possible to buy a 3rd party bluetooth dongle, but mine has stopped working after less than a year.

This does not have a floating roof design. A floating roof design has a black section separating the colored roof and the colored body. Look at a Lexus RX350. That has a floating roof design.

Not all floating designs are the same. Some xc40s have a white roof, see how it cuts off.

Drivers Only If there’s no separation between the roof and body it’s not a floating roof design. It doesn’t matter what color the roof is. There has to be a black section between the roof and body, that’s what makes the roof appear to be floating. There aren’t different types of floating roof designs, it either has it or it doesn’t.
