I would have one in an instant. I would come back from a drive exhausted, ears buzzing, hands sore, and cheeks creased from the sheer joy of that drive. Its exactly the kind of car you wake up at 2am just to drive fast down your favourite stretch of road, alone, dim cabin lights, cold air biting your face, that orb of tarmac ahead in the headlights your sole focus. maybe someday. ;(

When the Veyron was replaced by the newer faster Chiron, people don't really care about the Veyron. When the Chiron is replaced by its newer, faster successor, people won't really care about the Chiron. But decades from now, this Type 35 Replica will continue to be an incredible work of art, speed and excitement. It wasn't about sticking the most cylinders and turbos into a car to make it fast. It was about making a car that stripped out everything besides what made it go.

And in 50 years the Veyron and Chiron will be amazing collectors items, just like this. A Veyron will be slower than a regular fast hatchback by then, but that won't be seen as the point.
@altjacobs7 жыл бұрын
no, hatchbacks wont be faster than a veyron or chiron, because they will be autonomous google cars fixed to 60kmh to get from a to b, and driving as we know it will be long gone. internal combustion vehicles will probably become part of the show and display law, or some special licenses or insurance policies will be needed to drive them. very sad times coming indeed.

ABSOLUTELY! Without a doubt, one of the GREATEST motor vehicles ever created. In 1927 when most people in the world were still using a horse and carriage, this vehicle could propel you up to around 140+ MPH give or take. Most cars at that time were averaging a top speed of about 40, maybe 50 tops (all out, pedal to the floor). Most roads in 1927 were NOT paved, they were dirt roads with lots of ruts, rocks, and holes. It is difficult to grasp how revolutionary this machine was in 1927. It was the Veyron/Chiron of it's day.

What an amazing car. The grin-inducing fun of the Morgan 3-wheeler, and more so, and that sort of old-world complexity and insanity of Jay Leno's steam cars, this Pur Sang is clearly in that ever-narrowing niche of cars that give total engagement. And it seems exhilarating and exhausting to drive. It made my life just a little better today learning that someone out there is making these, and others get to buy and drive them. Bravo!

Watch Jay Leno's videos. They look (even in close-up's) and sound exactly the same, and according to Jay, they even smell the same. this sounds kinda like riding an older sports bike from the 70s or the 60s. Like my old kz, it can be temperamental to start up, you have the choke to worry about, the gearbox clunks and sometimes 4th- 5th misses and you get a faux neutral, the starter doesnt really work so you have to kick it over more often than not for what seems like an hour, sometimes you just run out of gas if youre not careful or youre daring, and the tires leave so much to be desired that dropping your knee at 30mph feels sketchy sometimes. But Ive never had so much fun as I have riding that even with a 400cc motor

I thought they only had the hand brake- is this a modification that Pur Sang made- to have a pedal…maybe the hand brake only handles the rears? Also- shouldn’t he be pumping the fuel pressure every so often, or is that just something that you do at start up and gravity takes over once it’s running? Either way- I want one.
@RoverWaters Жыл бұрын
no modification, brake pedal is for all wheels via cables the hand brake is... a hand brake like in all cars. the hand pump is there to prime the mechanical fuel pump, before starting the car.

@nielsgodron39997 жыл бұрын
There really is no one original Bugatti colour. Fact is, the Type 37s and T35 would be painted in France's racing blue, but there were big differences in shades throughout the country. For instance, racers from the south would often choose a lighter, almost whitish blue, whereas the northern cars were much darker, more towards the blue in the Pur Sang 35 in this video. If you're interested in knowing more about this great marque, please join the Vintage Bugatti tribe on Drivetribe.

4:37.. well with a car with positive camber... that's to be expected... it want's to pull into every corner, infact it has positive camber because it will self powersteer your steering inputs.

on the contrary, positive camber coupled with rigid axle induces outboard lateral forces.It was used to counteract the natural oversteer tendency of the car.

This thing is terrifying: you sit on a flat, couch type seat that has no grip because it is made from leather and has no profile to hug your body in any place, no seat belts, skinny tyres, no brakes that you can sensibly modulate(not progressive, basically binary) and when they start biting the car tends to get sideways. The pedals are spaced so that you get extra excitement. It looks like it has longish wheelbase and a really narrow track with pretty high center of gravity which means it is pretty easy to roll. To exacerbate it has metal leafs for suspension. This car is basically a bathtub with wheels and probably drives like one. One mistake and you are dead. This is not a widow-maker, this car is for those whose daily routine starts by playing a few of rounds of russian roulette. Absolutely mental.
