My first car was a 2.5 liter Z3 with the M54 engine. Very reliable little cars once the plastic cooling system bits are fixed but the top design is quite poor. The engine and transmission themselves are solid as they come and incredibly smooth.

Also yes i have to agree with the comments 'trading up' with a load of free parts isn't exactly real world, fair or attainable but hey ho its a decent watch, although ot does have an wiff of the big wheeler dealers debate on 'yeah but you have a free mechanic'.

I beat a 2000 Z3 when it was brand new with a 1970 Datsun PL521 with a Datsun 2.0 4cyl under the hood backed by a 4-speed manual transmission. It's not a very nimble car there... 😂

The engine is not a m52 block its a m50 as the m52 is 2.2 and above

It is a m52tub20, there was a 2.0 version, more common in Europe as they came in more cars there. Funnily enough there was never a 2.2 M52/M52tu, you’re thinking of an M54.
