Try Sweet Emotion medium loud, see how fast you end up going. That said, I came looking for this song because someone put up a picture of a long straight open highway, and asked what song was playing....someone mentioned this and I thought oooooo haven't heard that in awhile.

After 7 years of retirement I try to listen to trucking songs quite a lot. But this one just about brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it ! My career was only 47years and 4 million miles in all 48 states in the lower USA plus Canada and even Mexico a couple of times. Anyway, this has got to be my favorite driving song ever, and I hope Eddie Rabbitt is resting in peace.

@@niemi5858 exactly right and also when owner-operator meant you could actually make enough to raise a family and eventually buy a house and become blue collar middle-class. Like back when the logbook was an actual physical book not an app on a computer. Pre-pandemic I couldn't believe it when I was reading about how they were treating the trucker's at the pier in Long Beach and all the exasperating conditions and restrictions they were putting them under, a lot of them are making so little money they can't even afford to live anywhere else but their trucks some of them. As bad as it is sometimes in Washington State, the Bay Area and California is on such a different level of restrictions and extremely overbearing laws I'm so glad I do not live anywhere near there!!!

Drivin' My Life Away Eddie Rabbitt Llevando mi vida lejos Pues los faros de medianoche te ciegan en una noche lluviosa. Well the midnight headlights blind you on a rainy night Adelante, despacio, despacio, sin tiempo, Steep grade up ahead, slow me down, makin' no time, Pero tengo que seguir rodando But I got to keep rollin' Esos limpiaparabrisas apagando un tempo, Those windshield wipers slappin' out a tempo, Manteniendo el ritmo perfecto con la canción en la radio, Keepin' perfect rhythm with the song on the radio, Pero tengo que seguir rodando But I got to keep rollin' Ooh, estoy alejando mi vida, buscando una mejor manera para mí Ooh, I'm drivin' my life away, lookin' for a better way for me Ooh, me estoy yendo mi vida, buscando un día soleado Ooh, I'm drivin' my life away, lookin' for a sunny day Bueno, la camioneta se detiene. Well the truck stop cutie comin' on to me, Intenté convencerme de un paseo Tried to talk me into a ride Dijo que no me arrepentiría Said I wouldn't be sorry Pero ella era sólo un bebé. But she was just a baby Hey, camarera, me sirves otra taza de café, Hey, waitress, pour me another cup of coffee, Descárgalo, levántame, dispárame, volando por la carretera, Pop it down, jack me up, shoot me out, flyin' down the highway, Buscando la mañana Lookin' for the mornin' Ooh, estoy alejando mi vida, buscando una mejor manera para mí Ooh, I'm drivin' my life away, lookin' for a better way for me Ooh, me estoy yendo mi vida, buscando un día soleado Ooh, I'm drivin' my life away, lookin' for a sunny day Pues los faros de medianoche te ciegan en una noche lluviosa.
