This is the first time I ever herd a Caterpillar on a AT-545. The 5.9 cummins and a Mercedes Benz or Collins flat 6 sound just as good but the high pitch engine wine takes it to a new level.

No doubt, Navistar DTs and Cats have a very heavy rumble when pushed hard. Cummins sound a bit more musical to me under hard acceleration.

Pneumatic accelerators definatly are tricky . They like to Jump when trying to give just alittle bit . I drove a GMC RTS2 with a detroit and allison 700 series . With air throttle I hated it

I knew it was a Cat when it was starting. :-P I like how it sounds, though. Sure is different from the 5.9... definitely higher-pitched, but I like it. Revving down at 2:14 was nice.

What do you mean by air throttle and by the sound of that transmission whine, is that a Allison at 545 transmission? It can't be since it's a cat motor paired to it but what do I know. Very nice video though!

Throttle was controlled by air. When you push the pedal it opens a valve. Definitely an AT545 with a 3116 paired to it.

That engine sounds kind of more like 3126, than a 3116.
