Im also biased towards the Superformance but I would not dare say theyre the best quality modern cobras knowing Shelby´s CSX 6000 427 S/C COBRA & Kirkham Motorsports 427 S/C exist

Almost feels as good as a Everett Morrison Cobra. They were the first to be licensed by Shelby. It is about driveability with Cobras, that's what sets them apart.

I met Sonny add Cher in san Francisco in 65 and Sonny had a Bristol body cobra, and parked it right on the side walk on Mission street and we would play pin ball. Sonny didn't like me cause his girlfriend did. ;-)

The bodies are very well finished by Hi-Tech Automotive but there is no getting away from the fact they are still GRP...... the very best replicas are alloy bodies but the key with Superformance is you get a CSX chassis number. For me the Kirkham Cobra is the pinnacle and not really surprised Shelby american buy their Alloy bodies and Diff's from Kirkham.

@@carrollshelby8690 Your right, the Aluminum Shelby doesn't have the Billet suspension of the Kirkham....... Kirkham will put any brakes on you want so anything from Original set up all the way to racing AP or Wilwood. As i said before the Only advantage of paying the extra for a new Shelby is the Chassis number, honestly if the chassis number doesn't bother you then save some $$$$ and buy a Kirkham as it can be spec'd exactly the same.

You are exactly right. Ol Carroll went around trying to sue everyone producing Cobra replicas and lost every lawsuit. Superformance just caved into Carroll. Nothing about these cars are “true Shelby”. But, Superformance cars are very good.

Ironically it's put together in the same way as the original......... the original rolling shell built in England, imported to Shelby who fitted the Engine and trans. Superformance does exactly the same thing but only the rolling shell is built in South Africa. IMHO the Superformance is let down by it being a GRP body rather than alloy!! thats why the Kirkham is by far superior (again their bodies are made in Poland and imported)......... Shelby didn't have the facility's to build his own cars which is why AC cars built the rolling Cobras, Cooper built the rolling King Cobras, Carrozzeria Gransport built the Daytons etc.... Shelby was a hotrodder and a great middle man.

The original was an English body with an american engine, pretty much what's going on here the body is made in South Africa and final fit and finish is here in the states. Kirkham I think is full us built but they're all aluminum bodies. If the superformance is the rolls royce then the kirkham is the Bugatti of cobra replicas/continuations.
