To genialne.

Timmy the blanket is a Hudson Bay Blanket. It is a very old but tough blanket. One of the best you could get! It will keep you warm in Alaska and be sure to only dryclean it as if you wash it yourself it will shrink real bad….enjoy! I have one in my cupboard and it is willed to my son. They are very hard to come by!

The Hudson Bay blankets are awesome. We had six of them growing up traveling from Canada down to Florida in our airstream. Six kids, Mom and Dad, and Grandpa. My great uncle was a Canadian mountie And he gave us six to make sure the kids were nice and toasty. The fun times we had in that airstream cold by the traditional Ford Country squire wood panel station wagon. It was truly a National lampoon vacation every time we went. Spent a lot of time in Vermont and Canada. We ended up purchasing land in the pine barrens with a lake and streams and a cranberry bog and built our own successful campground. That was 1967 that we brought the property, And as a family builted in to a beautiful wooded campground that is still in the family today. That's been over 50 years I believe I haven't bothered to count. My brother and his wife are managing it now but the lake is my happy place and has been since I was a small child. Anyway I think those Hudson Bay blankets might still be around with my brother, I sure loved seeing them when my mom still had them. They always reminded me of good times camping in the woods. Doing the off-season of the campground we always primitive camped in tents. We didn't live at the campground in the school season as there weren't many schools in the area. But we went every weekend and stayed all summer.

Not to pick but it was more of an observation then a complaint from what I heard from Tim. And the difference between the advertisement for lawyers to sue each other vs having self protection to take care of problems yourself and settling / handling things on your own is exactly the point, for us to all get along and solve problems amongst ourselves not needing lawyers to profit and make money off those situations.

That’s a Hudson Bay wool blanket you have. It was made and used for trading. I have one too. The first point blankets were created by French weavers who developed a “point system” - a way to specify the finished size of a blanket - sometime in the 17th century. (See alsoWeaving.) The term “point,” in this case, originates from the French word empointer, which means “to make threaded stitches on cloth.” The points were simply a series of thin black lines on one of the corners of the blanket, which were used to identify the size of the blanket. Though the points on the blankets did not have an inherent value, merchants during the fur trade often priced point blankets according to the number of points on the blanket, with one point assigned for small blankets and four points designated for very large blankets

That old wool blanket is from Hudson Bay an old trading company but I think they're still in business. My great uncle was a Canadian mountie In the '50s and '60s, and brought me and my five siblings one of those blankets. We had an old airstream and pulled it with the old Ford Country squire wood panel station wagon. We went from Canada to Florida but mainly stayed in the Northeast down to Virginia. We actually lived in the pinelands of New Jersey. New Jersey sounds disgusting but the pinelands are beautiful and you can go 20 miles without seeing another building or a car. We stayed toasty warm in those blankets even during primitive tent camps. Hold on to that sucker, it'll last you a lifetime. Ours are still around with one of us kids and we got them around 1965. Just never wash it in water or you will have a placemat or maybe even a pot holder! Happy travels I sure love watching your videos and travels.
