During my visit to the South coast I stayed a few nights at Margate in KwaZulu Natal South Africa. While there I was camping at a nearby caravan resort and I thought it would be a good idea to go for a tour around the town of Margate.

Beautiful scenery in Margate my family and I go past this way to go on a weekend to the Wild Coast Sun it's so lovely 🙏

We have alot to offer, however, your best option to see the place, is to be shown by a true local, or even maybe a contractor working for one of the holiday accommodation companies, as they travel all over the place, and you really have a great explore of the place

I left Margate in 2002 wow this place really went backwards compare to then. Wonder if Backline is still there 😂

I don’t think it looked particularly bad. It actually seemed quite pleasant perhaps even a bit sleepy (which makes sense given that it was a Sunday afternoon). If I were to knock any thing it’d probably be the roads, more than a few could use a little upkeep. The overall look and vibe was very nice though.

Yeah unfortunately it has hey. Last time I went to Margate about 5 years ago there were a lot of prostitutes around. Massive parties that got a bit out of hand by the beachfront road. Also sitting at the Wimpy people were just urinating all around. So it has gone backwards unfortunately compared to how I remember it as a kid. We always went on holiday here so it was absolutely depressing to see. Where have you moved to?
