Hello, thank you for uploading this beautiful video of your drive in my homeland, St.Lucia. You drive very well and seem to have a mastery of these steep, winding roads there. I haven't finished watching the video yet but so far, it looks magnificent. I miss St.Lucia.

Thank you for your appreciation. Credit to my husband for the driving. 😊 We fell in love with the Caribbean islands. There’s so much to see. Saint Lucia is gorgeous ❤️ Wherever we go we like to rent a car if possible and explore. In our experience, it’s one of the best way to see more in a short time. I’m hoping that through my videos, i can share beautiful places Saint Lucia to the rest of the world.

Hi there, I was also very nervous about potentially driving in st.lucia. we drive on the right hand side of the road where I'm from so it was a little bit nerve-wracking but now seeing how you did it, and what the roads are like, I feel a lot more confident going into my trip. This was more helpful than you know. This is exactly what I needed to see, it shows how why the roads are and how well-paved they are and what it's like when there are oncoming drivers.

Hey there! I have the same fears for my upcoming trip. How did it go for you? I wonder if I should hire a driver instead..I love driving, but we drive on the opposite where I live

To be honest did not really see many cyclists there but we were just in Guadalest in Spain and would highly recommend to check it out for your cycling expedition.

Is It recommended for someone to drive in Saint Lucia that never drove on the left side before? I mainly just wanna get from the airport (uvf) to the resort in Rodney bay & maybe do some sight seeing outside of that

Hi there. I'm creating a video of the off-the-beaten-path tips and I didn't get to record any video while I was driving. But then in St Lucia, you wouldn't want to be distracted LOL is it okay if I use some clips from your video and I will certainly credit you and tell people to come check out your video

thank iu for this going next month and my bf is driving from airport to castries i was concerned abt the roads but they dont look too bad and the steepnees not so bad either- afraid of heights and he likes to drive fast lol
@islandertravels3 жыл бұрын
The roads are safe. They’re steep with some sharp turns because the island has a lot of hills and mountains, but we didn’t have any problems following the signs and rules. I’d recommend just driving slow and enjoying the incredible views; that will also mean avoiding any unpleasant situations with the authorities. Enjoy!

Have they improved the roads since 2005/2006 when I was there? They seem a bit better than at that time.
@islandertravels3 жыл бұрын
It’s very possible. We were only there for a visit and the roads were generally in good condition. The only challenging part is the hairpin turns which as tourists we’re not familiar with. Also, if you’re coming from North America, you’ll find the road lanes narrower. Cautious driving is highly recommend.

From our experience, the roads to tourist spots are paved so I would say yes. We rented Suzuki Jimny.

Good work to Saint Lucia. The road quality are many times better than any other Caribbean country. In these countries there are not even road lines. Here, beyond the road lines, the road quality in general is very great, with the only issue that there's not plates or road sinalization. You can drive in Saint Lucia more easily to manage to drive in this country. So far, one of the best roads in Caribbean.
@islandertravels3 жыл бұрын
Yes! With limited time that we had, it was really nice to be able to drive around. We also learned that in Caribbean countries, it’s best to rent from a local business with good ratings instead of familiar franchises like hertz, budget, etc.
@phantomwarrior86863 жыл бұрын
@@islandertravels yes, for sure. There are a mix between tourists cars and local cars. It's a little bit hard to drive in near countries.
