Hi! Ever considered driving a tuk-tuk around the world?
No? Neither had we until the events of 2020 led us on a fundraising mission that eventually evolved into an 18-month, 23,000-kilometer tuktuk-powered marathon across Africa. What began as a campfire chat blossomed into a spine tingling pan-African adventure, and our sights are now set on breaking the world record for long-distance three-wheeled travel.
Every real adventure starts out with a goal; ours was to raise funds and awareness for wildlife rangers. Using our skills as a filmcrew, we aimed to harness the power of social media in order to spotlight the importance of mother nature’s guardians, along with the inspiring work of any community, sustainability and conservation projects we found en route.
Our Africa leg has been an odyssey of breakdowns, fine folk and even better views. We've coaxed our workhorses through elephants, jungles, mountains, savanna and into the ever hospitable Kalahari and Namib deserts. Who needs four wheel drive, A/C or doors anyway?
We made it though and now its time to tuk-tuk the Americas. If all goes to plan we will make landfall in early 2024 and will turn our heads to face the southern lands of Patagonia before making our way towards the Arctic Circle in the far North.
Having focussed on short format instagram/tiktok style videos up to this point; we will now be shifting a good chunk of our focus to posting highlights of the adventure on this channel.
Please like subscribe and all that other goodness.
Cheers,
The Tuksouth Crew
